I usually go in the 1st Half - around March or so - but am planning a trip for the colder months. Any suggestions when to beat crowding? I know Disneyland is always for the most part crowded, but any less crowding always helps.

Early Or Late November is great, just avoid Thanksgiving Week and Weekend! Even Disneyland can be somewhat empty around this time as everyone is going back to work and school. I wonder if the day after Thanksgiving would be good since everyone around the country is heading to stores for the best Christmas deals...

Also watch out for New Years week due it being a holiday and the Rose Bowl.

Don't go Christmas week thru early January. The time between September and a week before Thanksgiving is good. Make sure the kids are back in school!! The time between Thanksgiving and the week before Christmas is recommend by a lot of people.

After mid September, I think I read after 9/18 this year, check their website, Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion get their special holiday theming. If you want to see Aladdin at California Adventure, call Disney and find out what days the show is showing. I have gone 3 times and have yet to see it because it was "dark" the days I went. Off season they constantly change the days Aladdin is showing.

I personally like the time around Halloween but, don't go on Halloween. The parks are all decorated and the crowds are small. We went that time of year to both Universal and Disney and had a blast. One more thing, Universal is really crowded at night when they have the Halloween party. But, it is "dead" during the day. Most of the rides are walk-ons. Disney also has special events during Halloween season, if you want to go for the party, check the website to see when it is. They have a special parade, special shows and "trick or treating" in the park and some of the rides are open. The Disney party is kid friendly, Universal's party isn't.

if you don't care terribly about haunted mansion and small world, check when the first day of the christmas theming is and go the day before. usually if people go around christmas they wait until christmas decorations are up. also, if you narrow it down to a month or so and are looking for a specific day, check what times the parks are open. if disneyland is open from 8 to midnight, its a crowded day. if it doesnt open until ten, its a good day. ca adventure is always open less time than disneyland but usually follows the same schedule. good luck!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I looked at my calendar and November will be do-able. Sounds like a Disneyland/California vacation.
