BGT in February 2011 with 14-year-old

Busch Gardens Tampa: I am looking for advice on best days to visit, tours, Quick Queue passes, etc.

Hello! My son and I will be spending six days in Tampa in February and are planning on spending a day at BGT. Since we don't often repeat theme parks, I would like to do and see as much as possible. In addition to riding all the major rides, I am thinking of one of the behind-the-scenes animal tours as well as the Safari Tour. I am also wondering if purchasing the meal plan and Quick Queue passes would be worthwhile. Any advice and/or suggestions would be appreciated, including better days of the week to go. Thank you!

That's a lot to try to cram into only 8 hours. In February, BGT hours are usually 10 am to 6 pm. The park will not be too busy so doing all the coasters should be possible, wait times should be less than 15 minutes and some will be walk on. Paying extra to get on a little faster is up to you. Seeing all the animals will take some time, you have to walk along paths from animal area to area. As for the Safari ride into the savanna, they have 2 a day but if it's not busy, may cancel one. Anyway, you have to have reservations, so you will know ahead of time.

The meal plan is actually a good one if you are there from open to close and eat 3 meals. It's all counter service line standing and only one meal per person per line walk. No buffets.

February is also when live bands play from Wednesday to Saturday. Check their web site for bands and safari info. Good luck and have fun.
