Jurassic Park River Adventure Malfunctioning

Universal Orlando: Tiffany the final T-REX doesn't seem to want to scare people these days... I hear she wants more money.

There is no official report that I can find, but apparently the Jurassic Park T-REX is currently broken.

Reports started showing up around March 30th and are continuing to poor in. Grad Bash students from this past weekend are saying that it was covered by a black tarp and was just a "Misty Mess". We decided her new name is "Smokey". Apparently her real name is Tiffany. Anyone confirm?

At first the dino was just a statue. She still at sound for a while and people were reporting how funny looking/sounding it was. Then it progressed to no sound, no movement. Now hes just dark and smokey.

The ride is still up and running despite the "ten point scale." I haven't found any reports of claimed extended shut downs or planned ones for the future. I don't think it's Disco Yeti style just yet, but I wonder how long it is supposed to be down.

Someone who visited last week asked and the CM said, "She is in ill health but is expected to make a full recovery in the next couple of weeks."

Just returned from Universal yesterday and the T-Rex was back. Still no movement but at least it wasn't covered. The parks were packed Monday with 1 to 2 hour waits for most everything during the day, however once nightfall came the crowds thinned considerably. My sons and I even managed to get a boat all to ourselves on Jurrasic Park. BTW this ride and Jaws are a lot more fun at night.

Was it your first time riding this ride? I hope it was not and you know what she looks like in all her glory. These are on my "Must Do!" list for night rides.

I bet they close the ride in early May to fix it before summer. I'm assuming that it isn't an overnight fix since it hasn't been done already, and there is no way they will shut a ride down with crowds being as crazy as they are this week. (When storm force is at a 25 min wait, you know things are bad lol)

Not our first time, usually we make at least 2 trips per year(Mardi Gras and HHN). I really don't understand why no one likes to ride Rip Saw Falls or Jurrasic Park after dark, the weather was mild so temperatures couldn't be the issue. We walked right on both rides Sunday and Monday night.

Thats very true Ms. Potter. Since my spring break was early march and HS down here early April I didn't think about the crowd levels.

Orrin- A lot of cases people have been in the parks all day long and leave for dinner to save a few dollars. Some have smaller children so they never come back. Others sit down and realize how tired they are. Around here we say the best strategy is to go early, leave mid day (around the heat of the day) and return around dinner. You miss all the temper tantrums, mass leavings, and you save your sanity through the heat of the day.

Have received notice that JPR will be down from May 9th to May 22nd. Hopefully it won't run into any problems for all you Memorial Day weekenders!

I was there last week and surprisingly ALL of the effects were working properly along with a new wrinkle thrown in. T-REX was amazing.

I was there three weeks ago, and the first two animtronics didn't move a muscle. Were those fixed? Pretty much verything else was fine, including the T-Rex.
