We finally ended up going to Lake Compounce & Crocodile Cove in Bristol, CT. Our family is from Southern California, and we have been in Connecticut for three years. Being former Disneyland annual pass holders, it took us three years to finally try another park.

We got there early, parking was $8 (or $7 online), they do offer military discounts at the ticket booths. You get 2 parks with admission. We went on the four major attractions first;

1) Zoomerang
2) The Wildcat
3) Boulder Dash “Voted worlds #1 roller coaster”
4) Revolution

We walked right on to all three rides, and Boulder Dash has to be the best wooden coaster I’ve been on. Zoomerang was fun; it is the same ride as Boomerang at Knott’s Berry Farm.

The water park was OK, but my wife did get a nice bruise on the side of her forehead. Our 7 year old had a blast there.

We ate at “The Croc Pot”, for $13 you get BBQ chicken, Ribs, and your choice of 2 sides. The food was really good.

The rest of the day we spent on the rest of the rides and shows.

It was an overcast day, which is the reason I think it was not too packed. The park was in good shape, the staff was extremely friendly, and they did a decent job with trash.

The one thing that stood out is they offer free drinks; you can just walk up and help yourself.
It is advertised as “The oldest, continuously-operating amusement park in North America”

Glad you got to go. Boulder Dash is a truly great ride, made even better at night. It's in my Top Ten woodies. Wildcat? Not so much. What an awful ride.

If you like wooden coasters, you've got another classic in your adopted home state..Wooden Warrior at Quassy in Middlebury.

I think Boulder Dash is an o.k. coaster (only ridden during the day though) and Zoomerang wasn't really that great. It fact when I rode it last year, I thought that it was a painful ride and came off with a bad headache. Also, Wooden Warrior is truly a great ride.

Aesthetically, Zoomerang is the PRETTIEST Boomerang I've seen.

Boulder Dash is a completely different ride at night.

Now I regret not riding Boulder Dash at night. Boulder Dash was okay, but my 7 year old really loved it. Zoomerang was also a great looping roller coaster starter. Revolution was also another good one, I think we went on it 6 times!!
