Jungle Cruise WDW/Disneyland
Walt Disney World: What would people think about The Jungle Cruise Ride becoming 'Jungle Book' Ride?
I am new to this site so please bear with me if this has ever been discussed before in the past. For many years I have thought the Jungle Cruise ride in Disneyland and Walt Disney World, whilst nice, is a little bit dated to the point where I don't queue for it any more. I have often thought how good it would be if this ride was re-themed into a 'Jungle Book' ride with all the scenes and music. Just wondered if this idea had ever been thought of/discussed and what other people thought about it?
Ohhh boy, TH will rant about this for sure. I say keep JC the way it is and make a Jungle Book ride in AK.

I think if the Jungle Cruise's popularity was falling, that would be a suitable replacement. Though even then, it would likely be over TH's dead body. (I kid!) currently, the ride is popular enough to survive. A large refurbishment with more sophisticated AAs and a few new scenes would be welcome. Maybe Some Jungle Book references could be added (and used as jokes by skippers) in the same way characters were added to its a small world...
Stay tuned.
I'd love it. But be careful theres people on this site who will bite your head off for even dreaming up new ideas.
It's a Disney Classic

Love TJC, and wouldn't want to see it succumb to an overlay. That being said, I would love to see it upgraded and plussed. Just cause it's a classic, doesn't mean it has to feel classic technologically wise.

While I do agree that JC's popularity has declined, it's one of those rides that will never be touched. I actually have thought of making a Jungle Book ride. I do support the idea of a JB ride, it should be in AK. I would do something like a Kali River type ride but not a carbon copy with JB characters.
Thank you for your feedback/thoughts. Just seemed like an obvious location for a JB ride, but at the same time understand, as others have said, that the JC is a classic and most classics are best left in place (with technology upgrades). So maybe another location would be better!

I'm not getting replaced by singing bears and apes and a child with Peter Pan syndrome in a loin cloth, your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries, no go away with your silly suggestions before I should taunt you a second time!
to me the jungle cruise is a classic ride at disney and i like keeping some of the classics the same. however that being said this is one ride i would loved to see changed and it would be cool to see disney representing some of the past classic stories they have done.
Interesting thought. I haven't ridden on it lately. Same old same old. Love the idea of Jungle Book music incorporated. (I'm talking about Disneyland)
Anothy is right, it's a classic and you can't mess with those.

Hmmm, I think it could be a cool overlay, but the ride is classic, so you'd probably be split ride down the middle with film fans & rid fans.
I do think an actual jungle book attraction should be somewhere in Adventureland.
In the new mickey & the magical map show, the jungle book number seem to get the biggest applause / response from the show that I was at.
On a related note: Anyone know what happened to Disney's announced plans to do a Jungle Cruise movie with Tim Allen and Tom Hanks?
Haven't heard much on that movie. Not even a legit announcement.

It most likely went into Development Hell.
