Survey today about Lorax and Smurfs
Universal Orlando: Emailed by Universal Orlando about survey about Lorax and Smurfs.
Anyone else notice that they received an email saying that Universal Orlando wants to take a survey on a new Lorax and Smurf ride. It asks if you would prefer a dark flying balloon like ride or a 3D simulator for both attractions and a few questions pertaining to both. I have a feeling we are going to see both Lorax and Smurfs in the near future because it did not ask which you prefer but which ride system and story you would prefer for both. Any rumors of where and when this would happen?
Its just a scam, Universal has spent too much money the past few years.
If its a scam why go into detail about 4 different story lines about the two books/movies and not just ask me for my ssn and credit card number. I think it's legit. I'm also part of the universal Orlando survey panel whatever that means, It's probably because of the survey that I took a few months ago.
I'm not 100 percent sure,but I prettey sure it won't happen.
I prefer a Lorax dark ride. The Smurfs movie was load of crap.
If they're based on the movies, please for the love of God NO!
Didn't mind the lorax movie but the smurfs was astoundingly horrible.
Lorax movie did pretty well and a nice dark ride in between one fish two fish and cat and the hat or have it laid out to wrap around one fish two fish and save a spot for Horton or some other DR. Seuss character dark ride
For Smurfs...a 3-D movie to replace Shrek could make sense
The Lorax was not that bad, but the Smurfs was horrible. Both the movies were way past their prime (The Dr.seuss book, The Tv show, etc.)
I actually hated both movies. I don't need to describe how terrible The Smurfs was, but even The Lorax was poorly made. The movie was nice when it focused on the environmental message with the Lorax, but the whole subplot with the stupid kid and the girl was just terrible.
The Lorax dark-ride sounds amazing. I don't care if it is based on the movie or not, it would be great to have another "classic" dark-ride in Islands of Adventure.
On the survey I voted for the Lorax dark ride because I too think it would be pretty sweet. I grew up with Dr. Sues so taking a stroll and ridding the rides bring a little of my younger years back so I'm all for a Lorax ride. I voted for a smurfs 3d ride but seriously I wouldn't go on anything with Smurfs attached to it. They are creepy like the people from the small world.

I think, depending on the actual ride & experience, the attraction can still be good, regardless of the franchise.
What Universal did with Transformers is a prime (pun intended) example.
Critically acclaimed ride, from a movie franchise most considered terrible.
True, the transformers' movies other than the first were awful and barely watchable. On that note I am very excited to ride it when I'm down to Orlando next fall. I just can't fathom only having one female Smurfette in the civilization of smurfs. You thought the royal family in the dark ages kept it in the family, they have nothing on the Smurfs!
So Butterbeer, Pumpkin Juice, Flaming Moes, Transformers Energon (sp) and probably Smurfberry Juice
That's expensive NA drinking trip to a theme park
