Carolina Gold RusherRoller coasterMinimum height to ride: 48 inches About Carolina Gold RusherOne of the first attractions at Carowinds when the park opened in 1973. A family mine train which features two lift hills, two fun helixes, and a twist dive into a tunnel. If you have long legs, however, you may feel discomfort as the cars on each train are small. Readers' Opinions
Classic by far - Nathaniel Gillespie Out of most of the mine train type rides I have seen or rode, I'd say this is one of the better ones. It is a great family friendly roller coaster. - Jesse Key Great classic for the park...just miss the parts going over the water and the old steam wheeler going by. - Todd Harris Rode this ride as a child and now as an adult. It hasn't changed a bit. The staging area stays cool in the summer so it's a nice place to get out of the sun. The ride is fun for children and adults. Good family coaster. It is a tight fit (I'm six one). But I don't recall it being an issue when I was shorter. - Marc Ridel its fun and mostly never has a long line but when it does its not worth it - Drew Walters This is a good ride. I did not even think it was actually a steel coaster. I thought it was a woody. But a good ride. - scooby doobydoo
