America's first hydraulic launched coaster with inversions. Launches to speeds of 72 MPH before flying over a 150 foot top hat up, and 180 foot drop, through a dive loop and finally an inline twist and "Flying Snake Dive"
One of the best rides ever!!! Launch super fun!!!! Perfection
In 2004 Hersheypark revealed Storm Runner, a launched coaster that's one of the best. Recently the rides hard restraints were replaced with soft straps, improving the transitions of the ride. Before the launch tension builds up as a masculine voice come over the speaker, a horse screams, and a heart beats loudly. Then silence, the launch kicks in as the train is fired at 72 miles per hour before climbing skyward over the top hat , giving some airtime. It plunges down into the valley before pulling up into 3 inversions. Then after some strange banking. The ride is overs. You realize how insane the past 30 seconds was and yearn to go again. One of the must rides at this park.
Love the launch and the combination of elements. My rides on it were smooth. It was just over too soon!! If this ride lasted longer, I think it would be higher on a lot of coaster rankings. Launch to finish is only 30 seconds.
