A Premier Rides LIM (Linear Induction Motor) launched roller coaster.
The ride catapults guests backwards from 0 to 70 mph in 3.8 seconds through a 190' tunnel and up into a 180 degree inversion that flips riders completely upside-down. This "Top Hat" element is followed by an over-banked turn and a vertical spike. As the train nears the top of this spike, it loses momentum and is pushed up the rest of the 200+ feet by another set of LIMs. The train then stops moving upward and falls down, running the entire course in a foward-facing direction.
Duration of the ride is approximately 55 seconds.
I've ridden this both forward and backward, and going in reverse made it a LOT more fun for me.
Mr. Freeze is a pretty good ride, but a tad bit on the jerky side. It would be perfect if it was a little bit smoother.
Good ride, launch is thrilling but not as intense as I had thought. The dual loading stations are great, and I like that it is just a lap bar rather than over the shoulder restraints. I was surprised that it was a little rough in parts.. Nothing bad or painful, just thought that it would be much smoother. I think the reverse launch is a great addition as well. A backwards launch is more exciting because you have no judgment of when you will exit the tunnel into the outside and looking down at the ground from the spike is cool! The first time you do the inverted top hat is a unique experience as well. (9/10)
Mr. Freeze, although uncomfortable on the legs for taller people, provides the greatest rush in the park. It now launches backwards, somthing i havent tried yet. I really enjoy this ride and is quite the awsome expirience. You can make a strong case saying this is the best roller coaster in the park, weather it is or not, The park would not be the same without it.
Easily the best coaster in the park. I can't believe I'm saying that about what is essentially a boomerang coaster, but all of the problems with boomerangs are solved with this coaster. Only one train on the track at a time? No problem! The loading station moves the unloading/loading train off the main track while the other train runs the course. Too much time wasted while getting pulled up lift hills at the beginning and end of the ride? Easily solved by using LIMs. This coaster wastes no time before you are in the middle of an intense experience. Six Flags has a winner in this coaster, and other than the ugly and neglected queue, I can't think of a thing wrong with this ride.
My favorite roller coaster I've ever been on! It's short, but very fun and thrilling!
