I’ve been hooked on coasters from the day I discovered them: 18 months old and riding the kiddie coaster twenty-seven times in a row before my poor mother had to pry me off the ride. The following year I began riding the “big coaster,” the Cyclone at Lakeside Amusement Park in Denver. Nearly four decades later, I still love coasters and theme parks, trying to impart the thrill on my own children—who don’t all share the same appreciation…YET.
