Disney sells 158 acres of Flamingo Crossings land

I guess Disney just couldn't get it to work.

"A massive tract of land just west of Walt Disney World at the growing Flamingo Crossings development has a new owner.

Orlando Hotel Groups LLC, a Pembroke Pines-based company doing business as Orlando Gateway Hotel Group LLC, purchased more than 158 acres of land from Flamingo Crossings LLC, an entity related to The Walt Disney Co., said county records. The sale price on the transaction was $9.95 million, based on deed taxes to the county."

In Orlando Business Journal.

Jim Hill (another Disney journalist) often has many stories of its development that Flamingo Crossings will happen one day. That day never came at least from Disney. Hope this new owner has better luck or they'll sell it to another developer.

Not too surprising.

Disney seems to be easing up on the "outside entities" opening up near or in their property. I guess what is good for the area is good for Disney.
