Universal & Islands of Adventure

What if any are likely to be the least busy days of the week to visit these parks in late July and early August.
Also can you still enter the park early on the day you check in at a universal hotel. I know the room itself is not available till 4pm.

Going in the middle of the week is usually a good idea. You will definitely get early entry on your check in day, even if your room isn’t ready yet. Just get a room key from your hotel before going to the front gate.

As of lately, Sundays have been the quietest day of the week followed by Tuesday.

Crowds at the UO parks have been medium/light most of the summer. Arrive early and stay late. You will see everything you'd like to experience.

If you're planning to take advantage of your on-site resort's early entry perks, you can do that on both your check-in day AND check out day (as well as any days in between). For the Deluxe Resorts (Portofino Bay, Hard Rock Hotel, and Royal Pacific), they include Unlimited Universal Express AND early park entry (rotating based on the operational calendar). However, you still need to go to your resort in the morning to pick up your keycards, which serve as your UE passes (scanned at all attraction entrances), and they also need to be shown to access restricted park areas during the early entry period. Given the time it takes to do this at the front desk and the time to travel to the park gates and pass through the security checkpoints, you will want to give yourself 45-60 minutes from the time you arrive at your resort before the park opens for early entry. As noted above, your room won't be ready until later in the afternoon, so you can either leave you bags at bell services (or in your car if you're driving), and your resort will text you when you room is ready and what room number you're in.
