I need help with Hurricane season

May 20, 2025, 10:59 AM

There was a time in my life I used to visit California every Year for USH HHN. Eventually I stop for different reasons.

Im thinking about going this year but going to Orlando instead to slip in a visit to Epic Universe. There are some dates mid september that I could make work in my job but how far in advance should I check the weather forecast before reserving everything ?

Thanks in advance

Just book it.

September can be an active month, but having lived in Orlando for 20+ years, the only predictable thing with hurricanes is their unpredictability. I think last year the forecast track was heading our way for the majority of Atlantc hurricanes, but in the end we had 1, and that was a side swipe.

Tropical storms and stronge thunderstorms can be just as bad.

Book it, and see what happens in September.

FWIW the weather in Florida in September is the same every day, very hot and humid and thunderstorms in the afternoon (might be just for 10 minutes or could be for hours). There is a perception that Orlando will be cooler in September than it is during summer, but it is not, September is still summer in Central Florida. The weather is exactly the same.

Unfortunately there is no way to know if a hurricane is going to hit the area until like a day or two before. Even then they often change path and don't go exactly where expected.
