Happy 50th to the People Mover

July 2, 2025, 2:21 PM

The People Mover just had its 50th anniversary and I know it's a mix for some folks but still love it. It's a perfect ride, smooth, fast, barely any wait, a way to cool down and great views of Tomorrowland.

Disneyland made a huge mistake taking it out and never replacing it as it offers a quiet ride that's a nice break from the bigger ones around and glad it's still there.

Always a great attraction to ride during the fireworks

You're right Mike.
We love the People Mover because, as you say , it affords respite from the heat of the day and great views of the various areas of the Park from it's elevated position.

We also always used to ride the Skyway that ran from Tommorrowland to Fantasyland. It was great to pass over that area from above.

After standing in lines and walking miles in the park - it is nice to sit, relax and do nothing....

The people mover is a god send for anyone who is overheated, tired, overstimulated, or just needs to get on ANYTHING. It’s also a complete pleasure for those of us who love it for what it is, a breezy and shaded trip around Tomorrowland. I always dreamed of a highly impractical and faster moving version that would work as a sort of “inner-park train”, moving guests around the park and having multiple stops around the MK. Not entirely unlike some of the original concept art for Walt’s vision of the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.

Absolutely! Forget the talk about expanding the monorail--let's build more PeopleMovers to move guests around the resort!
