After numerous delays, Wild Oasis (the new kids area at BGT) is open. Even though it doesn't warrant a full post on the front page, I thought it should at least get a mention.
My first impressions were fairly positive. The land did lean into the colorful side of things, which is not my style but understandable. It was shady and there were a lot of water features that kept the kinetic energy moving. The animal exhibits were a return to form for Busch Gardens and the large playground sections looked busy. Children were having fun and tired parents were comfortable in the shade. If they really knew what they were doing, they would have put a bar around here, but whatever.
The area has a new ride, too. A small children's drop tower, Treetop Drop, with large screens showing animated animals. I found it janky and uncomfortable. I've never liked the idea of kid's rides being uncomfortable, because often it puts a bad taste in their mouth. Pinfari, E&F Miler, I'm looking at you. A child could ride Treetop Drop and think that larger rides feel similar or even worse.
Overall, I can't call it "Totally Immersive" like Busch Gardens wants to. It's not Camp Jurassic or Me Ship, The Olive but it's still fairly impressive. Honestly? It's leagues better than the new Shrek's Swamp area at USF.
Let's be honest, most of us could care less about a new kids play area, but let's talk about what's next. Since Busch gardens has done two family additions in a row, do we think the next addition will be high thrill? Is the giga rumor true? Or will it be something on Scorpion's land plot? I'm going to hedge my bets on a Gerstluaer Eurofighter taking up the left side of Pantopia.
I definitely rode Montu. Even though I go to BGT fairly frequently, I can never resist back-to-back rides on my favorite B&M and my favorite RMC.

BGT is a Great park.
I always said if it was in the Orlando Area it would be very popular.
Did you ride Montu...?
