Seems like a massive structural failure of this pendular swing ride. Not sure if it would be a design or maintenance fault but my thoughts go out to anyone involved in this. THat would be truly terrifying.
When I first saw this video, I was convinced that it was fake, because there are tons of AI-generated clips swirling the internet of unimaginable amusement park ride failures. However, it does look like this might be legit, and it appears as though the failure was in the connection on the main carriage arm where it attaches to the axle of the pendulum. It really is a nightmare scenario of what many people fear will happen on hastily-assembled and peripherally-inspected carnival-style rides that travel from place to place. What makes this report so unbelievable is that no one was seriously injured, which is miraculous given the images.
Terrifying. What is it with these types of swinging spinner rides? I recall the Six Flags variant facing issues a few years ago.
The fact that it landed almost flat is probably why we're not seeing a number of deaths. No one was crushed by it (it seems). There'll be a few significant back injuries though.
This is why I've never ridden a ride like this, even though I've been to my fair share of fairs. Usually the roller coasters are more reputable, since they're mostly from major manufacturers.

Wow that is scurry - Just watched the video.
We recently argued in another thread about Saudi Arabia and all their Human right violations.
Now his is another reason to never go there. No regulations and or inspectors.
