Waymo in Orlando

Edited: February 25, 2026, 10:33 AM

This will be a nice addition for those who do not rent a car or don’t want to use Uber or Lyft.

It is just getting started and I am sure there will be kinks to work out but a new option is always welcomed.

Waymo is not going to Disney at this time.

I just read a bit more on this, Since it just started in Orlando you have to download the Waymo app - and get on a waiting list, if invited you can use the ride program.

I do like the fact there is no one hoping\waiting for a Tip.

SeaWorld has a designated area for drop offs - None for Universal or Disney but should be coming in the future.

I think there was backlash to waymo in the cities that it went to, but I still can't tell why. If it's cheaper, there's no good reason not to consider using it.

I'm sorry, but you couldn't pay me to use a "Johnny Cab".

On my recent trip to Atlanta I could get Waymo on the normal Uber app. In fact when I requested a normal Uber, it often told me Waymo was the quicker and cheaper option and suggested it for me. I enjoyed the experience, though it was a bit nerve wracking, especially at a 4 way stop that had cars at all other stop signs.

I know there are a lot of safety and ethical issues, but this is actually a really great thing for people on the autism spectrum who cannot drive themselves and have too much social anxiety to be driven by a stranger in a traditional Uber or Lyft.
