I know this has probably been done before but I'm sitting here at work thinking about themeparks and it seems a lot of my best memories are the parks at night. What is your favorite park at night, ride at night, or area of park at night. I know most outdoor attractions are better at night but what are the ones that stand out to you.

Park at night: IOA
Ride at night: Splash Mountain/TTA
Area of Park at night: Has to be Jurassic Park, it actually feels real to me.

Here's mine:

Park: Busch Gardens Africa-seriously creepy in some areas.

Ride: Expedition Everest-Animal Kingdom is rarely open at night but when it does, Everest is 95% of pure darkness and I dare to say its even better than space mountain at that time.

Area: Jurassic Park(IOA)

Anything and everything at Animal Kingdom is amazing at night. It's a shame that it is open that late so rarely, but as a local I am constantly checking the AK schedule to be sure I don't miss any night action. It's a very surreal experience, and far from anything you get during the day. Although Splash Mountain at night is also deserving of a vote for best night attraction. It is the best way to experience it.

Islands of Adventure's Hulk Roller Coaster must be ridden at night to get the full effect of the rocket-launch style takeoff through the green fog!

Busch Gardens Europe at night is really great - especially as you climb the hill of Alpengeist. The view of the park at night is splendid. Also, night is the only time one should spend time waiting on the Big Bad Wolf. Night transforms that ride into something special.

BGE no doubt. Apollos Chariot is insane at night, its so dark back there. Aplie is crazy at night too, that ride leaves me dizzy and loopy especially at night. AWESOME

Cedar Point is amazing at night! Front row of Millennium Force at night is the best ride ever. It's heaven on earth! 92 mph in the dark is unbelievable! I love how it's right on the beach as well! The wait for front is always at least 3 hours long! Best park in the world by a mile!

I totally agree with barbra and chisty, except think that Alpengeist had the biggest change of the rides there. You might have not been there during 2007, but Griffon is AWESOME.

Griffon has a short 200 foot drop and that's it. Short ride and not worth waiting more than 10 minutes for!

EPCOT is probably my favorite park at night because of Illuminations and the amazing lighting on the exterior of all of the attractions and pavillions.

Surprisingly, my favorite ride at night would have to be Big Bad Wolf at BGE. It's not that kind of ride that's going to blow off anyone's socks, but at night, this coaster is completely different, and for me has the greatest enjoyment differential between night and day of any coaster I've ridden (over 200).

I'd have to agree and say that any of the disney parks at night are great, doesnt really matter. Always so much going on, and so many lights, and things to see.
JAWS at night is simply amazing, fireballs in the darkness are the winner every time.
And favorite section has to go to Lost Continent, the Dragons lit up, the Enchanted Oak, even Poseidon has that great glow about it.

Park - Disneys California Adventure - pure magic after dark - such a great feeling with the light twinkling over the still lagoon
Ride - Its a close one - Either Hulk (the launch is amazing after dark) or California Screamin
Area - New Orleans Square in Disneyland - expecially at Christmas - awesome around the Rivers of America

park: i think any park after dark is a lot of fun... everything seems to come alive

ride: the grizzly at kings dominion, you can't see a thing!

area: frontier land at mk, that area of the park clears out toward the end of the night and it is kind of like being in a ghost town

BGE at night during Howl-O-Scream was a lot of fun.
Fav rides at night: Big Shot, Stratosphere Tower, Las Vegas and Apollo's Chariot Back Row
I can't pick one area of a park because I love all parks when the lights come on and half the people go home. Best time!
I haven't been to Kennywood yet. Is Lost Kennywood as cool at night as it looks like it would be?

BGE at night is beautiful. Big Bad Wolf is a much better ride at night and becomes really awesome. My favorite area at night would have to be New France. The log buildings lit up just looks amazing for some reason. The bridge connecting San Marco to Germany is also incredibly beautiful and serene at night.

Epcot, hands down. Nothing -- and I mean nothing, for me -- beats the World Showcase during the low-lit ambience of night. It's a world marketplace, a huge party, and an example of what high-level design and appropriate spending can produce. At night is the perfect time to wander through the back streets of Morocco or to take in the museums at the back of the Japan pavilion. Or go see the new Canada film with Martin Short. The day is best for thrill rides, but night-time is for Epcot, for a slower pace, and -- yes -- for Illuminations. The best time of year is the Food and Wine Fest, where eating (and drinking!) around the world is an annual (or more) trip.

There was one time about six or seven years ago when the World Showcase was such a spectacle all night long: that's when they had the show BLAST! (drum and bugle corps-type show), then they had the Tapestry of Nations (or Dreams) parade, then the Illuminations show. Wow. That, for me, was the hallmark of all themepark experiences. True spectacle.

Park: Cedar Point - Sandusky, Ohio

Ride: Millenium Force - Cedar Point - Sandusky, Ohio
Something so peaceful of having the lake off to your left down the first drop and how quiet the entire ride is. Also, the entire length of the track, with the exception of the very last, is off by itself. Not to mention it's very erie only being able to partially see the track.

Section of Park: Old Virginia - King's Dominion - Doswell Virginia
It's how I picture older theme parks to look at night. The walkways are lit up with old style gas lamps (with updated light bulbs), midway games have the classic flashing colored lights above the play areas, and it's in the middle of the woods.

I think I have to agree with J.Dana on this one.

All the Parks have a special feeling at night , especially at Christmas. But EPCOT lends itself so beautifully to the nightime experience with the World Showcase superbly well lit. Culminating in what must be the most spectacular firework display of them all.
