What IOA Islands would you like to see?
Universal Orlando: Wishful thinking...

I'd love to see a permanent horror oriented island. Aptly named Monster Atoll or something like that. Featuring something along the lines of WDW's Haunted mansion and showcasing the finest horror monsters in Universal's history (i.e. Frankenstein). Please post your ideas, I'd love to hear them.

I think your idea is a good one. I like the "Underworld" theme drawing on Universal's back catalogue of Horror.
They did have a walk through Mummy (and then Van Helsing) at Universal Hollywood didn't they.
The latter got some bad reviews but when we walked the Mummy we were the only people in there and it was good fun.
The perfect antidote to the more sugary PotterLand.

I love the idea of a horror themed land. I wonder if that would cannibalize their Halloween Horror Nights though. Interestingly, one of the rumors I heard back when a third park was being considered was for a whole Halloween/Horror themed park. As far as another Island goes, I think a Sci-Fi themed island could work. Especially with the closing of the Star Trek exhibit in Vegas, I think an island themed around Star Trek or the Matrix or some other popular Sci-Fi works might be cool. Also, I think that Universal should just make the remaining Lost Continent island be re-themed to the Lord of the Rings.

sci fi sounds great for a new land. horror does as well, but im not sure if that will happen because of potterland.

Great, innovative ideas, and I did think about Halloween Horror Nights, but for those of us that can't visit year round it would be a cool idea.
And a third horror themed park, now there's a rumor you could sink you're teeth into.
As for the previously rejected ideas at Hollywood, I was vying for something a little more updated al la The Haunted Mansion or some other type of dark ride.
The Sci-Fi idea is cool, and hasn't been thrown around alot, good lateral thinking.
And I know these ideas are not feesable but hey no hurt in throwing around ideas.
As for Lord of the Rings, I still like the Lost Continent and the scenery is great, and also that would mean getting rid of Dueling Dragons : (

Action Land, obviosuly a better name than that. Something James Bond Style, a decent ride, like test track, but better, in an Aston Martin Style Car... Lots of skids, hitting things.
Add in some new and classic bond, its a huge franchise and with careful updating could last 50 years.
I know it is already a themed area, but I would love to see them improve on the Jurassic Park area. Imagine the possibilites.

I've got it !
Let's have monsters, dressed as James Bond or Jason Bourne, driving fast cars through middle earth whilst being chased by a wicked wizard in a helicopter.
Just a thought.

Cool ideas, the Action Land is a good idea, I love the James Bond/Jason Bourne films.

Yeah I'd love to Jurassic Park updated, even though I love the River Adventure. One of my favorites.
Sounds awesome, Rob. I'd pay to see that.
I'd say before anything else, fix what they have now. That park is in dire state of a fresh coat of paint and some tweaking.
I too love a horror themed land, like a permanent HHN, because Ive never been able to make it for that, but it looks so cool...another cool idea would be a SciFi Island, with attractions based on War of the Worlds and the newer King Kong...I also agree that Jurassic Park could use a new ride, like a Safari ride: think Kilimanjaro Safaris, with AA Dinos chasing you...and Id love to see an Ironman ride at Marvel Super Hero Island, and a Horton Hears a Who attraction at Suessville

Ooh, love the idea for an Iron Man ride in MSHI. I'm not sure where they could possibly stick it, unfortunately. However, since Universal didn't have any stake in the movie they may not feel the need to go that route (it's all about synergy, don'tcha know).

iron man would be cool and fantastic 4 should have a ride.
I agree with Fantastic Four as well...as for Iron Man, room would be an issue, but the ride doesnt have to be based on the movie, it could be based on the comic book, just like Spider-Man and the Hulk are based on the comics, not the movies, because it Iron Man is Marvel...the ride could be a virtual reality/interactive type motion simulator where you don a "Iron Man suit" and have controls that control your movement and various weapons and attacks to defeat your opponents
Doctor Doom's Fear Fall is technically the Fantastic Four ride. Marvel Super Hero is also already pretty full. The only space is the theater where Bill and Ted used to play during HHN between Marvel and Comic Islands. An Iron Man ride would probably have to be a simulator given the lack of room.
How often does the old section of the Spider-Man waiting queue ever fill? It could be the entrance area for a new superhero ride (coughIronMancough) that could stretch back a bit beyond the area into a current employee area. Or they could stretch it to the theater that's currently not in use for a really big ride.
EDIT: Actually, viewing the park from maps.live.com, it would make more sense to wipe out the extended queue and theater and move the entrance to Toon Lagoon farther back, taking out some midway games and the theater. In their place would be an extended area with a brand new Iron Man ride =D
I also think Toon Lagoon should get a Garfield ride, possibly a spinning roller coaster
I completely agree...the theater should be eliminated and MSHI should extend out that far and a ride should be put in that place, and Iron Man would be the best option IMO...it could be a motion simulator so it doesnt take up too much room
A think a motion simulator would be too unoriginal. Instead, how about the guests take on the role of Iron Man on a flying roller coaster? It could swoop above pathways and maybe dive around (or even into!) the lagoon.
That does sound awesome! but I dont think there would be enough room in MSHI for another coaster...I think you could make a motion simulator original enough with this theme by making it interactive and giving a bit of virtual reality to it...kind of like combining Cyber Space Mountain, The Magic Carpet ride, and the Super Hero game at DisneyQuest into one ride, where you feel like you are literally in a video game
The beauty of a coaster is you can build up, over and around stuff. Look at Sheikra and the upcoming Hollywood Rockit coaster in USF. Admittedly, MSHI would be a little crowded but a flying coaster like the Manta would be better than another simulator.

I think even we could start to explore what islands you wouldn't mind seeing being removed altogether
My take on it is that the horror island is perhaps the most suitable thing that can take a lasting effect on the park. It would be quite expensive and tough to put together, but just imagine the possibilities of having the following: 1- A recreation of the Psycho house and Bates Motel where guests can get a virtual tour of a replica that Hitchcock used to make Psycho, only it isnt the exact landmark. 2- A Dracula castle for a Van Helsing themed ride that could encompass the Frankenstein monster, Wolfman and the Vampiress' along with Dracula himself. It could be a ride similar to Men In Black, only with a horse (fake of course) drawn carriage. 3- A boat ride for Creature from the Black lagoon. 4-An interactive "Birds" experience in which as your vehicle moves, several birds fly around you and there are near misses. Your senses are up for graps, in essence (probably 3-D the best way to do this with gusts of air all around you). 5- You can have a "Dawn of the Dead" or a "Pitch Black" haunted house type walk-thru. These are just a few of the possibilities, but it would most certainly be an ambitious project, needless to say, expensive.
Universal would probably best see fit to create an island that could be somewhat of a quick fix, such as an adventurous stunt show with a ride dedicated to Bourne, a solid Universal entity (sorry, Bond, is not). But again, I feel the horror island would be the best way to go.

Woah, hold on. First things first, Bourne doens't outrank Bond on the Universal priority list.

While 007 has more history and would make a great ride, the Bourne franchise is Universal's own and they would undoubtedly make that into an attraction before Bond.
