Which Super Hero Should Be Next
Universal Orlando: Does Iron Man excite you? Does the fear of Thor's hammer make your heart race? Or is it the man himself, Captain America that should be the one to become the next ride?
I know that Universal is having its money woes and I know that they have money tied up in the Harry Potter project. But, I want to know who you think the next Marvel super hero should be. With the upcoming movies of Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America (the only other guy worthy enough to pick up Thor's hammer) and the much anticipated Avengers movie, who do you want to see become a ride? Also, what type of ride should represent these guys? I loved what they did with Iron Man in the movies and really, really hope they do as well with Captain America. So I am torn on who should get the honor of a ride. Can not tell that I live in a household of nothing but guys (husband and two sons). Nope, not at all.

Universal hasn't got a dog in the race as far as the movie franchises go. Based on sheer popularity, it seems like a true X-Men themed ride would be a smart move (Storm Force Accelatron just doesn't cut it). Iron Man would be solid as well, but X-Men gets my vote. Just as long as it's "X-MEN" and not "Wolverine and a bunch of secondary characters appearing for a fraction of a second."
I would say Captian America. He seems to be around the Island and what better hero than one that represents the good USA!
Here is my big super-cool master plan that will absolutly never happen :)
Change Increible Hulk coaster Theme to Iron Man with new effects, red and silver track and on-board audio
Change Doctor Doom's Fearfall to Thor's Hammer
Change Storm Force Acceleration to Captain America's Sheild Spin themed to spining on a giant Captain America sheild.
And do absolutly nothing to the awesomly amazing Amazing Adventures Of Spider-Man while building a Tower Of Terror like ride where a big green flash appears at riders when they are in a lab as they turn into the Hulk and then launches up and down with huge Abomination animatronic clawing at them located in World Expo Universal Florida and themed to The Incredible Hulk movie!
Is it just me, or does this sound awesome!?!?!?!?!
Nick's ideas are terrific. I would definitely add all of the heroes. The problem comes down to space. The only thing that could probably fit is another coaster and a drop tower. The Iron Man coaster should be a flying one.

Get rid of Dr. Doom and Storm Force, without them, IOA would be virtually midway-free, something to be praised. Then, with the extra space, the Iron-Man dive coaster and X-Men 4D simulator, would have plenty of room.
Where do I get in line to meet Jean Grey and Storm?

i think all the ideas sound great! personally i would love an ironman ride the most. I think whats actually hardest is that there isn't room to put every super hero in future years that marvel decides to make a movie out of that hits big. I mean like you guys said theres ironman, captain america, thor, the avengers, fantastic four, and xmen (which doesnt have an actual ride). the good thing is they have had alot of hyped movies that fall flat ie) ghost rider, daredevil, elektra. Im not sure that ironman was massively huge like spiderman and xmen were but it sure is now. Right now i think it would be best to stick with ironman since he is indeed a greatly loved character currently.

Cut Doom some slack, James. I've never seen a midway with a pair of 200 foot S&S towers. And the theming on that ride rivals any other attraction in the park. Storm Force, however...well, I still consider that a placeholder.

I am jaded Steve... I have one right in my backyard at
Worlds of Fun. I am rarely impressed by rides in Orlando that are exactly the same experience as I can get 20 minutes from my house. Not to mention, those space shot rides are all the same: 30 - 60 minutes of waiting for 2 seconds of weightlessness. They may look impressive, but sadly they don't live up to the hype.

An Iron Man Flying Coaster would be awesome, too!
Nick, your ideas sound awesome!!! I love how you included everyone. I would definitely have to ride all of those.

And he's dead. Just like Zach Snyder's career after that flop! ;)
Im a big comic book nerd and really i would want to see a coaster based on "lesser known" heros.. or maybe even villains. You need to have a nice catchy name too.
For a flying coaster - Falcon, Vulture
For a dragster coaster - Quicksilver, The Whizzer
For a runaway minetrain ride - Rawhide Kid, Kid Colt
there are too many to mention really but i have thought about it a lot..
Eh, Watchmen is a bit too mature even for Universal...I would definitely like to see an Iron Man ride...possibly an interactive POV motion-simulator type ride??
For SF, I say that they could make a flash coaster, which would be something like Rita, a "ground-clutcher" launch coaster. Also, Captain America could be a B&M sit-down at about 135 feet.
I haven't seen what he will be like in the upcoming Wolverine movie, but Deadpool could be another character who deserves something. I am not a big comic book reader (only when my husband or sons really want me to read something to understand the importance from a movie) but Deadpool is one I enjoy. He is one of the craziest and funniest dark hero around. I am still not sure if he would be a good guy or a bad guy, but he definitely is one of my new favorites. They could have some type of show or ride to show off how insane he is. Hopefully they will do him justice in the upcoming movie which could launch an attraction.

Based on what I've heard from peeps who watched the workprint, they pretty much destroyed Deadpool in the movie. I've heard that part of the missing 15 minutes deals with his character, but it doesn't sound promising. It'll be the Marvel equivalent of what Batman and Robin did to Bane (brilliant criminal dumbed down to a monosyllabic brute).
How about a Marvel Zombies dark ride?
iron man or xmen to replace storm force, with a decnt ride and imagine how good that island will be
