Disneyland- As with most of Southern California, real estate is an issue. There just isn't much space to grow outside of the railroad tracks. Thanks to google maps satellite image there is a space inside of Disneyland that caught my eye as the location for a major E-ticket ride, or two smaller attractions down the line. It's the Big Thunder ranch area(including the old Hunchback of Notre Dame arena) that is also adjacent to the empty Fantasyland theater. It's a sizable area of the park that is mostly unused and ignored. Maybe the long rumored Woody ride on the Frontierland side and/or a modern dark ride based on Beauty and the Beast or another classic tale to replace the Fantasyland theater? Or how bout a brand new concept featuring Pixar characters. What are your ideas for this space?
Tomorrowland- This area has been constantly changing since the park opened. Star Tours 2 is coming and the Submarines are back so thats good. Yet there is still that empty track above you as well as the aging Honey I shrunk the Audience show. It may also be time for a replacement for Innoventions. The empty track is a major eyesore in the land and at least bring back the old people mover if they don't want to put in a new concept. As for HISTA a new 3-D show with the Incredibles could be fun and Wall-E has a futuristic theme that could fit into the land.
The rest of the park- Disneyland's "west side" is near perfection. Indiana Jones is awesome but it does need some refurbishment. Fantasyland is good too although a new white coat of paint on the Matterhorn would be nice.
Disney's California Adventure- As we all know this park is getting a lot of love right now. All the additions are great in my book.
Hollywood Pictures Backlot- This area at times seems like a ghost town. It's getting a trolley but they still need to do something about the empty Millionaire building as well as the unpopular Muppets show. Mickey's PhilharMagic is great but it seems the muppet theater can't accomadate the screen for this show. Since both buildings are next to each other they can be torn down to make way for a new attraction. Maybe Crush's Coaster from Walt Disney Studios Paris or a fresh new idea. This of course would be way down the line but it's never to early to start thinking about the possibilities. That's the only area after the Cars land opening that I can see a new attraction opening up. Aladdin is Disney's best theater show anywhere and should stay there for a while. Shows at DHS like Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid have played for over 20 years so that proposed Toy Story show should stay on the sidelines for another decade or two.
Universal Studios Hollywood- No theme park in the country is as constricted space wise as USH. The park is built on a hill top surrounded by an actual working movie studio. I'm still trying to figure out how a Transformers ride will fit in the old Backdraft/FX stages building. The Gibson amphitheatre takes a good chunk of land from this park and it seems most of the soundstages near the attractions on the lower lot are still being used for production so there doesn't seem to be any space for a big attraction outside of the coming Transformers ride. The Wild West Arena remains closed. Hopefully the updated FX show sticks in the cursed Castle theater that has had 3 strikes in the past decade.
Studio Tour- I can't wait for the new King Kong segment and the new sets look great. Not sure how they could change the tour maybe work something out with the fast and furious segment.
Sea World San Diego- They are also extremely limited in space and they also have to face city opposition if they want to add another ride. There's space behind the Wild Arctic building and to the East of the park in which they could import one of their excellent coasters from Orlando, most preferably Manta, but it seems the city won't allow this but maybe one day there might be a change of heart. There was also a proposed indoor coaster attraction before the sell of the company planned but I just don't see a place where this can happen, it would be great though if they followed through with their plans. As for existing attractions I would like to see a more adult friendly 3-D attraction as opposed to the pre-school aimed sesame street show they currently have there.
So what do you guys think should be next for these parks?
