Could Soundstage 44 become Lord of The Rings?

Universal Orlando: I've done some digging.

I was reading an old Screamscape article published back in 2010. At the time Universal Orlando was giving a survey about new attraction/park plans, and the survey heavily focused on Lord of The Rings. My thinking is that maybe the Soundstage 44 could be a LOTR Attraction or some type of experience. Tell me your thoughts.

We just don't know at this point Tyler. Anything could be there transformers, lord of the rings or anything else. But it really depends on universals idea of Wow this will impress everyone!

Truth be told, since the Lord of the Rings franchise is pretty popular and has a fairly high fanbase, I think it deserves a land instead of just a ride. There are high merchandising oppurtunities and possibilities for Middle Earth. However, since Hobbit: There and Back Again won't release until December 2013, there's time for an attraction to be build if all resources and time are poured.

I doubt it would fit with the area, and I'm not really a LOTR fan.

I really don't think there is space, the demand or the desire to build anything LOTR. I think it's a silly notion or a dream to think it will ever manifest in a theme park.

The first "Hobbit" film (An Unexpected Jounrey) comes out December 2012. "There and Back Again," the second half of the series, comes out December 2013.

LOTR does not make sense in a park next to one that has Harry Potter, with a Harry Potter expansion due in 2014/15. It just doesn't make financial sense to spend the kind of money that it would take to license LOTR into a theme park, and only put it into a tiny corner of an already crowded park (granted many said the same thing about Harry Potter).

I don't see them building a lord of the rings attraction anytime soon. I think that it is maybe transformers or harry not sure if that is still the rumor or not
