Google Street View: Universal Orlando

Universal Orlando: Take a virtual "walk" through the Universal Orlando Parks thanks to Google Street View.

I apologize if this has been posted elsewhere but I hadn't seen it recently. I happened on this a few weeks back while planning our June Disney trip. I just wish Disney had something like this.

Google mounted one of their technicians with a camera rig like they have on their mapping vehicles and walked the Universal Parks in Orlando. It appears that Universal Studios was shot in two takes as RRC is in different states of development in different shots as well as crowds being there and then not. Check it out.

There are also these following parks if you look them up on Google Maps:

Disneyland Paris
Universal Studios Hollywood
Sea World Orlando, San Antonio, Orlando
Busch Gardens Tampa
Hershey Park

This is great fun Don.

Ever wondered if you might see yourself in one of these Google Maps ? I always look out for us just in case. My friend appeared on the street view near his home in England without realising he was being photographed by the passing vehicle. So it does happen.

Has anyone ever seen themselves on the Google map at one of the Parks ?
It'd be really funny if you did see yourself wouldn't it ?

That's great to know Nick. I browse Google Maps alot and found USH last night on there. Hadn't seen the others yet.

Rob, that's funny that your friend saw himself on there. Our house has the garage open and the kid's toys in the driveway but no kids. They must have gone in for lunch or something otherwise we might have had them on there. :)

Don ~ kids have this capacity to hide from view at will. You sure there aren't some tops of heads or eyes lurking behind some boxes or something. Look really closely and zoom.
You never know.( he he)

Wowee..in 3D even. Need to find my glasses! Just did a virtual run to ET...the ride we always hit first our first day at USF.

Thanks, Don!

I enjoyed walking past the Simpsons. BTTF was closed when I was there last as they brought in the Simpsons. So I hadn't seen it yet. It was also cool to see how Rip Rocket or whatever it's called weaves in and out of the park down the left side.

It is a great sight...especially how the rides breaks through the wall in New York to loop around. Another great view of it is from just outside the park, near the path to Blue Man Group.

Very cool, Don. Didn't know they were allowed in the parks.

That's right Mark. If nobody saw what he said, you can now view Google Maps in 3D!

Don, Zachary clued me in about Google Earth a while back, but I only put it on my computer the other day. After looking at your links, which are very cool, I looked at Universal from above. I never realizes Universal was so land locked, boy not much room for expansion.

^ Unless if you look in their South corner. There is LOTS of land there, enough for a hotel and another park!

^Yes, I noticed that too Nick, but doesn't a street run between those lots and Universal, unless I looked at something else? If you put a park there, how would you get people back and forth between the two parks? I guess Universal could buy the street and block it off.

There is a street between that land, but aren't there many streets between the WDW parks? I think the real question is what kind of theme could they use in an area where almost every possible theme has been used? Maybe a Dreamworks park?

Anyway, I found out four new parks can be viewed on street view!

Discovery Cove
Aquatica
Busch Gardens Williamsburg
Sesame Place

Nick, as far as I know, all roads in WDW are owned and maintained by them. There are no public roads inside WDW as far as I know. That street by Universal is a public street isn't it? Thanks for the other info.

The world's most beautiful theme park, older than DL and just as advanced as UO, is available in street view.

Type "Efteling, Kaatsheuvel, Loon op Zand, The Netherlands" into Google Maps.

In 2008 my spouse and I were there on a gray, rainy day and it was still absolutely enchanting. The attractions are truly unique, especially the non-edited (non-Disney) portrayals of Grimm narratives. Great thrill rides, too.
