Everyone is Kung Fu Fighting, and other odd theme park concepts2006-09-04By Erik Yates: If you thought a Dracula theme park in the home of Vlad the Impaler was odd, how about a theme park themed to Enter the Dragon? More specifically, its star Bruce Lee in China. The Chinese news agencies are reporting that a park is in the planning stage to pay homage to the late great star of film. The park will feature a roller coaster that imitates the grunts and screams that made his films fun. If thats not enough fun, it will also feature Bruce Lee robots that patrol the park and are controlled by computers located inside a giant statue of Lee. Thanks to Screamscape for the heads up. This screams of something right out of the Simpsons. I love it. What other weird kind of theme parks could you dream up? Readers' OpinionsFrom scott lindsey on September 5, 2006 at 7:07 AM
i think it would be fun i think there should be a park devoted to anime or manga or the comicbook industry such a park would be fun it would combine 2 passions love of themeparks and comicbooks From Donna Kempf on September 5, 2006 at 11:57 AM
I would like a park or an area of an existing Disney park to offer a section devoted to the Villians. WDW & Disney in Calif should both offer this when and if developed. As must as we would like, living in Arizona, it is easier cost-wise to get to the California park(s) for us. One day we hope to be able to make it to the Florida attractions to see the amazing extensions to the Disney empire offered there. :) From Christopher Combs on September 5, 2006 at 1:47 PM
this is an awsome idea.i do martial arts.so a park for bruce lee,the man who made martial arts famous to most of america,is the coolest idea ever From Sid Ryan on September 7, 2006 at 8:47 AM
I think the part about the Bruce Lee robots roaming the park is a bit far-fetched. With the exception of a few demo-bots (like the ones that are used at Conventions to hand out flyers) and bots like Lucky the Dinosaur, there really haven't been many robots loose out amongst the guests. On stage or in show is a different matter entirely. Would I like to see such a thing? Heck, yes! But, unless they're putting Asimo's in Bruce Lee Costumes, I think its a bit of blue-skying here. And, I rather doubt that Asimo's movement (though impressive for his technology) would make anyone I'll believe it when I can walk through the gate and see it. -Sid. What kind of weird park could I dream up? Well, I'm just back from 2 weeks in Italy. How about a park themed to Italian history? Helenistic-land: Covers 350BC to 0BC. Dark Ages: 476AD to 1400AD Renaissance land: 1350 to 1500 Foreign Domination land: 1500-1860 Modern Times land 1860-now

Hmmm ...
Sounds ... um ... Cool.
In the past, we have had conversations about a "Simpsons" theme park.
Also:
A "007" park
A park in Disneyworld devoted to Disney "Villians!"
Even a "Star Wars" park.
The oddest park idea I've heard is a "South Park" park.
