Transformers: The Ride?According to IESB.net, The Movie Reporter, a Transformers themed dark ride could be coming to a theme park near you. The article mentions Disney as a possible site for the ride but given the sticky licensing situation with MGM I doubt they'd take on a Paramount property. The rumoured closure of T2:3D at Universal Studios in Hollywood and/or Orlando would open up a good site for the ride.

I agree with not closing t2. I hate it when parks close rides and don't have anything there and I also hate it when they close multiple rides all at once. They already have the back to the future ride closed so they should wait. Add more why don't they. If there is more there are shorter lines and it makes it better. Transformers would be really cool and My 16 year old son would love it. It would be cool if they could have you sitting in the car and then have the car transform into the robot sending you up to where the eyes are and then transform back at the end sending you down like the freefall. :) From Robert OGrosky on January 29, 2008 at 10:42 AM
You get a big yawn from me for a Transformers ride!!! And it would be very dumb to shut down the T2 ride in the Universal parks. The 3D movie is still the best of its kind and with now Christan Bale on board to play John Connor in a new upcoming Terminator movie they would be much smarter to keep the ride and then re-do the film based on the newer movies that put in a fad type ride like Transformers will be. Loved the movie, would love for a coaster themed around that to come out. Just a shame I live in Australia and cannot travel great distances on planes. Will put the challenge out to all Australian theme parks, for your next ride, why not one themed around Transformers? As surely the franchise is not a one of? Does anyone know if there are more Transformer Movies in the pipeline to be produced? Have a great day. cheers Noel From Gareth H on February 2, 2008 at 11:24 AM
