Disney to charge for formerly free sessions at Epcot Food & Wine FestivalBy Scott Joseph
It's looks like the free wine seminars and culinary demonstrations that were lagniappe for people attending the Epcot Food & Wine Festival are a thing of the past (and the recession). Disney's charging for them now.Published: August 7, 2009 at 6:22 PM

Since you started a newer comment topic, below is a copy of what I wrote on July 31 in a similar topic. I go a few times each year since I live in Florida, so I noticed some changes for this year. The wine seminars that happen 3 or 4 times a day were free but this year are $8 each. I personally like this change because the last 2 years I couldn't get in any because too many people just camp out all day at the Festival Center and take all the seats since they were free. The Party for the Senses on Saturday nights now, in addition to the $140 tickets, have added a section where you are guaranteed a seat and extra stuff for $75 more. The biggest complaint each year was that there were always more people than seats and the starts were mad rushes to get a table with seats before they were all gone. To solve this problem, rather than just bringing a bunch more chairs, they decided that charging extra is better. This article has been archived and is no longer accepting comments. Right, I showed my parents the link and they noticed now the events cost some money. Good news is it looks like you can reserve now for the different events.
Oh well, I am going for the first time this year. Much excited
