Universal Orlando King Kong Construction Update: March 2015
Work continues at an apparently brisk pace on the new King Kong-themed attraction at Universal Orlando's Islands of Adventure theme park. Matt McDonough filed these photos of the King Kong construction site, from various angles around the new show building, which stands between the Jurassic Park and Toon Lagoon islands.

We can see rock work on the facade of the building now, which is beginning to look like a Kong-sized version of the Skull Island facade on the King Kong 360/3D encounter on Universal Studios Hollywood's Studio Tour. Universal Orlando's version of Kong will include a 3D wrap-around screen encounter, like Hollywood's, followed by an encounter with an animatronic Kong, as fans experienced in the previous Kong attractions at the Universal Studios parks in Florida and Hollywood.
Comcast executives confirmed last month in a conference call with investors that Kong would be returning to the Universal Orlando Resort, though resort officials have yet to formally announce the project.

Looks good so far can't wait to see the final product!
I might be in the minority with this but as a huge theme park/ride fan I honestly dont know if I've ever been more excited for a new ride more than this. Kongfrontation holds a really special place in my heart. I hope this is a loving tribute in some way
I'm looking forward to this, and will probably head to Orlando to check it out next year. But a lot hinges on the quality of the Kong AA. After all this time, let's hope it's a significant improvement on the one in the original attraction.
I wonder if they will expand the movie. The Kong tram ride portion in Hollywood is pretty short, although long enough for Kong. It had just enough action and I felt it was sufficient. It is part of the hour long tram ride, which was a pretty long ride. It will soon get Fast and Furious. That's one heck of a long long journey.
Kong at Orlando has to be long enough for those waiting an hour to see it. I can't imagine what they will add. Certainly the beginning portion will have a new animatronic to see. They will have to add new elements to make it more worthwhile for guests.
Insiders at OU have been saying there will be giant bug AA's early in the ride. Also that real fire effects will be used, like in Mummy, Spider Man & Gringott's dragon.

Looks awesome. I wonder how they're gonna transition from the 3D film to the animatronic scene.
