Theme Park Creative Leaders Gather in Anaheim This Weekend
The Themed Entertainment Association, a leading industry association for creative professionals, is preparing for its annual awards gala in Anaheim this weekend. TEA announced the Thea Award winners last November at the IAAPA Expo in Orlando, with Universal's Wizarding World of Harry Potter leading the winners. Before the award recipients collect their honors Saturday night, however, TEA will be hosting several presentations and panel discussions showing off the winners.
Day one of the annual TEA Summit, on Thursday, will focus on members-only looks at business trends in the themed entertainment business, including theme parks, museums, and other branded attractions. Speakers form AECOM, TEA's partner in producing the annual industry attendance report, will present their research on global economic trends in the industry. Day two will bring case studies of this year's Thea Award winners, including Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, the 9/11 Memorial Museum, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and a keynote address by this year's Buzz Price Lifetime Achievement Award winner, Ron Miziker of Miziker Entertainment Group.
