Universal Orlando reveals 2016 Halloween Horror Nights icon

June 9, 2016, 2:41 PM · Jack's sidekick, Chance, is taking charge for this year's Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida.

Universal Orlando entertainment creative director Michael Aiello explained that this year's year will take place where last year's 25th anniversary event left off:

The aftermath of the carnage is still fresh and Chance finds herself incarcerated for the crimes of last year. With the “Jack in the Box” on an evidence shelf somewhere waiting for someone to turn the crank once more, Chance bides her time within her cell.

But this is not a tragedy for her. This prison is a toy box. It’s within the confines of her cell that she enters her horrific “theatre of the mind”. She knows that the acts committed inside her mind will manifest in the real. Both equally deranged and gothically beautiful.

So, we have two very distinct states of mind for Chance—as well as two distinct looks. Terror itself, ripped in half… the shockingly real and the grotesquely imagined. This is an evolved Chance taking her rightful place atop Halloween Horror Nights.

How these worlds collide and the amazing nightmares that are brought forth as a result is what Halloween Horror Nights 26 is made of. Our amazing line-up of houses and scare zones—drawn from movies, TV shows, and original stories—all live within the confines of her terrifying theatre.

Universal Orlando has announced houses based on The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, The Exorcist, and The Walking Dead for this year's Halloween Horror Nights, which starts September 16 and runs for select nights through October 31 at Universal Studios Florida.

June 9, 2016 at 2:58 PM · With Suicide Squad releasing in August, I wonder how many are going to compare Chance and Harley Quinn.
June 9, 2016 at 4:00 PM · James, I was thinking exactly the same thing, particularly since I think Harley Quinn is going to have an enormous surge in popularity.
June 9, 2016 at 8:51 PM · Pretty sure the Chance actress is the same who played Frozen's Anna in the 2014 Bill & Ted show. The original Chance was more of Harley rip off. The new actress' voice kind of imitates Bernadette for Big Bang Theory.
