SeaWorld San Diego offers new annual pass option

September 27, 2017, 3:40 PM · SeaWorld San Diego today announced a new annual pass option, aimed at boosting attendance at a park that has been battered by rising attendance at local theme park rivals including Legoland, Disneyland, and Universal Studios Hollywood.

The new SOCAL pass will go on sale tomorrow, September 28, for $99.99 and will include a full year of unlimited admission, free parking, two free one-day guest tickets, discounts on in-park purchases, and special member-only events.

In addition, customers can purchase pass using SeaWorld's EZPay monthly payment plan, which would work out to less than $9 a month for the pass.

The San Diego park next year will open a new roller coaster — Electric Eel, a Premier Rides Sky Rocket II shuttle coaster, similar to the Tempesto coaster that opened at sister park Busch Gardens Williamsburg in 2015. In addition, the park has planned a variety of special events and festivals in 2018, including its Seven Seas Craft Beer & Food Festival in March and April and a new Sesame Street Parade on weekends in May and June.

SeaWorld San Diego will continue to make its Fun Card available for $89.99, which is the walk-up gate price for one day admission. That pass includes admission for the rest of 2017 and 2018, although blackout dates apply and parking is not included.
