Universal Orlando adds one more day for 'Stranger Things'

November 1, 2018, 11:25 AM · Following the lead of Universal Studios Hollywood, Universal Studios Florida will open its Stranger Things house from Halloween Horror Nights to daytime guests of the theme park.

The Stranger Things house will be open for one day only, November 6, in conjunction with Netflix's "Stranger Things Day" promotion, commemorating the day 35 years ago when character Will Byers disappeared into the Upside Down, triggering the events of the series.

Universal Orlando's after-hours Halloween Horror Nights event closes November 3, and Stranger Things has been the promotional star of the run. The Netflix hit has helped extend the popularity of the annual Halloween event, bringing fans of the series' sci-fi and fantasy elements to Universal's horror-driven event. Universal also used Stranger Things as inspiration to give the entire event a 1980s retro spin this year, reflected in a popular Poltergeist themed house, as well as the original Vamp 85 scare zone.

Universal Orlando annual passholders will get express pass access to the house, which will be open from 11am-7pm. Universal also will sell Stranger Things-themed food items at Benny’s Burger Tent and San Fran Pastry and Boulangerie during the day.

At Universal Studios Hollywood, the Stranger Things maze has been open to day guests this week as a lights-on, no-scare-actor walk-through attraction. The final day for that attraction is tomorrow, though the Stranger Things maze will be open its its full form for Halloween Horror Nights's final days this weekend.

That is so awsome , if it was Disney it would have been an extra Stranger Things cup cake upcharge party , they would have done a cash grab.

Even though the house was scary and intense it’s more PG13 than some of Horror Nights houses.

I did my first Halloween Horror Nights in USF this year; the Stranger Things house was pretty amazing in its detail, but we positioned ourselves at the front of the staging pens prior to opening, and managed to get through to be amongst the first 50 or so that went into the house that night. By the time I walked out the other side, the wait was 2 hours to get in. Missed Poltergeist, because its wait was at 90 minutes.

Went through five houses that night. I enjoyed them, but by the time I left at 10 PM, there wasn't a single house with less than an hours' wait - and a couple of them were fairly lackluster.

It is a neat time, but I couldn't believe how busy it got.

My fiancé and I had the pleasure of going to HHN this year. We bought our passes at the beginning of the year when Universal was offering 2 nights for the price of one. We got to go through all 10 haunted houses without an express pass.... the longest line we waited in was 70 minutes for Halloween 4. The park was very busy but they were very good about keeping lines moving. We never waited more than 30 minutes for any of the other attractions not related to HHN that were open during the event. Stranger Things was great! My favorite though was Scary Tales,Slaughter Sinema and Carnival Graveyard

I was not impressed with this house or honestly any of them this year. Very disappointed for the price of admission plus fast track passes.
