Busch Gardens Tampa: Reports of a new Bolliger and Mabillard coaster for the Florida park in 2005.

To all those Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Florida fans listen up. There will be a new coaster in the park for 2005 and it's going to be a BIG one. It will be a dive machine by B&M and the tallest in the park. After the first drop the coaster will enter a tunnel then go into a flap-back element like BGW Drachen Fire did. After the second drop there will be a water splash. If you don't believe me go to bgtguide.com/2005 and click on Stanleyville Central logo on the top of the homepage. There you all can see the layout of the coaster and building permits for the construction. Well I guess I have cleaned up that rumor ENJOY!

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but all of the rumors reporting a dive machine seem very plausible. BGT is moving a lot of infrastructure in the Stanleyville area to make room for something, but speculation is really all the rumors are until BG makes a formal announcement, just as with the giant building going in at BGW.

This rumour has been on screamscape for a long time. Although, nothing has been officially stated, the rumour of a dive-machine from B&M would make sense. With an opening date of 2006, it would compete directly against DisneyWorld's Animal Kingdom's new coaster, scheduled for a similar opening date. Busch Gardens will be keen to purchase a 'new' ride type, the B&M dive machine is thought to be far less like that of either the ones built in Alton Towers, UK and the one in Taiwan. Expect various details to emerge throughout the summer before an official press announcement somewhere in the fall, presumably, Novemeber.

Well, yeah. You'd have to be pretty friggin' stupid to built a diving coaster that only relied on the first drop to provide the thrill.

Oh, wait...

HAHAHA. Everybody point and laugh at Ben--no, I kid, I kid...

The information on BGT Guide also shows a splashdown as the coaster comes back, so a near vertical drop won't be the only element of the coaster. I'm still partial to the loops, turns, twists and inversions of Kumba and Montu, but this one may yet surprise. We'll just have to wait and see--rest assured there'll be a full review when BGT starts showing off the attraction.

This attraction sounds brilliant. But I've noticed that despite having excelent coasters such as Gwazi Kumba and Montu in the park, they don't reach the top coaster list. This one might not make the list either.

I think Montu makes a lot of lists. And on those it doesn't, it's usually those damn trim brakes that are to blame. Gwazi usually makes the woodie list, but I don't think it really deserves to be on an overall list. Don't expect this new one to make many lists. This sounds like a one-trick pony situation to me. In fact, the splash area was added just to hide how one-trick this pony is. But then there are several one-trick ponies in Cedar Point and some of them hit the lists.
