Question about Club 33 and other Disneyland

Disneyland: I am looking for recommendations of things to do in Disneyland.

Hello,

My boyfriend and I are big Disney fans (something I think we get from both of our mom's) and since a trip he and I made last Christmas my mom has been subtly hinting that she would like to make a trip too. You see, my parents divorced when I was young and since then it has been just my mom, brother and I. When I returned from my first Disneyland Christmas experience in 2002 with a friend my mom and I started dicussing the fact that we have never taken a trip together just the three of us. We also realized that neither her or my brother had been to Disneyland in 15 years. So for Christmas 2003 my mom went all out and splurged on a 5 day vacation for us to Disneyland complete with accomodations at the Grand Californian. We had hoped it would be the start to a yearly family tradition but unfortunately we have not had the $ to keep it up since. So this year my boyfriend and I are going to try, as a Christmas gift, to suprise both of our families with a trip to Disneyland for all 8 of us together in 2007. I'd like to try and line up a few other suprises while we are there that I know they would enjoy, such as the secret of watching the Fantasmic show from the gallery balcony. Of course the opportunity to dine at Club 33 would be the icing on the cake and would definitely make for an unforgettable trip, I have heard a few people mention that at times members will auction an evening at the Club for charity? I have been checking E-Bay and will continue to do so, but I am wondering if anyone has information on other organizations that participate as well that I could possibly look into? On a side note, does anyone have any other recommendations of fun/original things to do while in Disneyland?

Any information you might be able to give me would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Good luck! Without a pricey membership card and reservations, entry will be quite a challenge.

Yeah, getting a membership to Club 33 is going to set you back a few thousand dollars, not to mention the massive waiting list. I wish you luck though.

My girlfriend and I actually just got back from Disney World. We were down there for about 6 days and were there for New Years. We stayed at Saratoga Springs right across from Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island. If you're looking for some fun stuff to do, I would look into going to Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island.
Pleasure Island is the nightlife of Downtown Disney. They have 7 clubs which you can go to, about $10 if you want to go to just one, $20 to get a club hopper and you can go to all of them for one night. If you're going to get multi day park passes, you can use one of your fun visits to get a club hopper. Another great thing about Pleasure Island is that every night is New Years including fireworks. They have 2 comedey clubs (The Comedey Warehouse and The Adventurers Club) then they have the BET Soundstage (current hip hop) Club Motion (current radio hits)The Beach Club (rock) 8Trax (70s and 80s hits) and my favorite Manniquin (trance/electronic). Even if you don't like that kind of music, the club is still worth seeing. It is the most high tech club and it has a revolving dance floor.
Downtown Disney also offers plenty of great resteraunts (Rain Forest Cafe, Congos, Wolf Gang Puck) and gift shops including the huge World of Disney store. Also, you can find Disney Quest there too. I didn't check this out but you can use a Fun Visit to go there if you want.
One thing that I really wanted to do but didn't have the chance because I didn't have enough money was to go to Circus De Leo their (similar to the one in Vegas).
For a place to stay, I would suggest Saratoga Springs because you can walk to Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island and you are only 30 minutes away from the theme parks by the Disney Buses. It is also the newest resort that Disney has and it is one of their Home Away from Home resorts. Hope you all have a great time and get to do everything tha tyou want to do.

That is a great review of Pleasure Island, but they are going to Disneyland and asking about the exclusive 33 club. I wish there was a 33 Club at Disney World. I will agree with you, Pleasure Island rocks!

LOL, You sounded like you had a blast at Pleasure Island. I have been there once and I loved it. My favorite was the Adventurer's Club! I would like to go to Club 33 though at Disneyland. It is really expensive and very exclusive. My family is big fans of Disney and we probably would do this, but we are DISNEY WORLD fans more. Anyway, good luck in gettin a chance to see what few normal people see, Club 33!

Club 33 is very special...I had the opportunity to dine there in 1998...a friend of mine is a member and he set me up when I was out there...membership fees are incredible...initiation fee is around $25,000 and then it's about $5,000 a year in dues...but it is so nice to be able to get a drink in the park...I got some great pics and there are also quite a few props from Disney movies located here
