For those of us who missed out on riding Flashback at SFMM, I found a couple of POV video clips on Youtube.com I just happened to come across them last night. Type in "flashback magic mountain" to find it. You can hear the poor fellows grunting & cursing about the 'rough ride'. I REALLY REALLY am so sad that I didn't get to ride it. Rumor has it that it's being removed from SFMM by the end of this year. Anyone know or hear anything about that? I HOPE it gets refurbished & finds a new home in the US so I won't hafta travel abroad just to ride it. I hope it doesn't get scrapped so I can get a chance to ride. But at least I can get a taste of what it was like thanx to these videos. I found only two clips of it, one entitle flashback is actually just a boomerang like SFOT I think.

Just to confirm there are 3 videos entitled 'flashback' but only 2 of them is the SFMM Flashback, sorry if I wasn't clear on that. I didn't want anyone to be wracking their brains trying to find a third one. Also, it looks like the videos were taken w/a phone camera or poor quality camera but either way, it's grainy & shaky in places but good enuf to get the idea of the ride.

Flash back will not be leaving anytime soon - - SFMM needs Flashback to keep their 17 coaster award if they take it away they will olny have 16 and be tied again with cedar point, but they are planning to replace it with a BRAND NEW flashback in 2009!! I cant wait!, Oh FYI: they are going to make a new coaster, after they demolish Pcyclone, I dont know what it will be does anyone know yet???

Actually they'd have 14 now since they dismantled Flashback & Psyclone. I heard that FB will be stored for now but from the way I read the article, they were keeping it but were totally getting rid of psyclone soooo I dunno what they're really gonna do. As far as the FB video clips, I tried to find them just a few days ago & they weren't there or I couldn't find them anyways soooo either they were removed or I just wasn't looking in the right spot.

well to tell u the truth the ride wasn’t all that fun after u go on the first drop the rest were the same with some breaks here and there and at then end it spiraled up then it was over. Seems kind of fun but it was hella shaky you had to rest your head back and against the shoulder restraints or else your head would be hitting the sides.
The only way the ride would be fun would be making it a lot smoother and actually taken off the dang breaks that made it slow after every drop.
Over all if they take it off you wouldnt miss much =/ not kidding

I've often wondered after seeing the trains, if there were better made trains/cars that WOULD be smoother to use. I often read ppls comments about one coaster having one type of train & another coaster having another type of train that was better than the other train. That would be very interesting to find out if all FB needs is a better train. Perhaps they need a train from B&M or converse w/B&M to make it smoother, after all, B&M apparantly has cornered the market on SMOOTH rides!
