Hi everyone!

I'm planning to fly into Richmond and I'll need to arrange transportation to the Kingsmill Resort. I know how expensive cabs can be. Can anyone recommend an affordable shuttle company?

Kingsmill's concierge suggested I used Tidewater Coach, which is $60. That seems a little high, but if it's the cheapest available, I guess it's what I'll go with.

Anyone have other suggestions?

I would say the $60 is reasonable to go from Richmond to Kingsmill.

Bob, you know that the Richmond airport is about 45 miles from Kingsmill, right? I doubt you're going to get a ride for less than $60.

Yep, I do realize the distance between Richmond and the Kingsmill Resort, but flying into Richmond was the most convenient and affordable option. It was about $220 round-trip, whereas flying into the MUCH closer Newport/Williamsburg Airport was about $470, and it was not even a non-stop flight - I would have to fly down to Atlanta, GA first and then back up north to Virginia. No thanks.

Incidentally, I called again and spoke to a different concierge - a lovely lady named Kate - and she suggested another shuttle that would cost only $40. I'm glad I did a bit more research before deciding! If anyone else needs transportation from Richmond Airport, the company name Kate suggested is Groome Transportation.

Happy travels, everyone!

Bob: Just for what its worth, once you factor in traffic in and around the Newport News area, it usually pushes as to whats a further drive. I can tell you, on the north side of Williamsburg, like around the Great Wolf Lodge, its usually quicker to go to Richmond's airport than Newport News (Speaking from a guy that comuted from NN to the parks when I was in High School).
