I am going with my family to Cedar Point, June 10th thru June 13th

We will arrive on the tenth and leave on the thirteenth. We have reservations at Castaway Bay so we will spend a half a day at the indoor water park. Our full park day will be June 11th and we need help on the following items
-Line planning
-Where to eat
-Childrens rides(Sisters are coming)
-How to utilize the early entry

June 12th

-Half day at Castaway Bay waterpark and we will buy starlight tickets for that night.

Thank you for helping

P.S. How is this Chet and Matts place.

I will try to help as much as I can. First, you picked a decent time to go. Week days are always better, the only thing you might run into are high school kids. Lots of schools go for end of year trip. Otherwise lines shouldnt be too long, but if you havent been there before be prepared they will be longer the most other parks. (except for maybe disney and universal) I never stayed at a resort, so I dont know much about early entry. I will tell you this for line planning. If you are a big coaster fan and want to ride Millenium and Top Thrill head there earlier in the morning. They are in the middle to back of the park and there is side entrance by Soak City that will put you closer to them. The bigger the coaster, the bigger the line. There are two ways we hit the park. We either start in the back and work forward or we start with the tame coasters and work our way up. Most people dont hit up the Blue Streak, Iron Dragon, Disaster Transport, etc right away. So the lines are shorter and you feel like you have riden something by the time you wait an 1 or 2 for Millenium or Top Thrill. Generally Raptor's line is the longest in the morning because its the first big coaster you come to when entering the park. Also if you start with the smaller coasters first you arent as startled when you ride Millenium and Top Thrill. I hope that helps for line planning. If not let me know. For food. if you want sit down with kids items I recommend Macaroni's or the Market. The Market in a big buffet and have lots of food for picky kids. The Macaroni Grill has a good kids menu. New this year is Chik-Fila and Panda Express. I dont know much about Chet and matt's place. the kids rides are in two areas. First there are some rides near the front by Max Air and Disaster Transport. Those are mostly cars, planes and stuff that go in a circle. In that area there is also a Snoopy play area by the pirate ship. I dont know much about it because I dont have anyone young that I go with. But it seems like playground type area with a train you can ride. ALso there is Camp Snoopy back by Gemini. They have Snoopy themed rides including a kiddie coaster or two. They also have food stands with smilie fried, kids seem to love those.

Ok I wrote a huge novel, I hope that this is somewhat helpful. If something more comes up please post here or email me. cutie82081@aol.com I will try to help all I can. I love Cedar Point (like you couldnt tell) and want everyone to enjoy it as much as I do. :-)

Would it be better to spend the full day at the park on Monday, or Tuesday.

MF, TTD, Maverick, and Raptor will all have at least 1-2 hour long waits so get to the park very early so you can take part in the the running of the bulls. Ride the front of MF and TTD so you can have 2 life changing experiences!!!

I would say Tuesday just to let the weekend people one more day to get away, but also keep in mind the weather. The cooler it is and more chance of rain the less busy it will be. It gets absolutely packed when it's hot and the lines dont have the best cover or fans to keep you cool. (probably the only bad thing I will say about Cedar Point)

Hopefully Maverick will be open then, get there first, I promise the line will be HUGE (easily 2-3 hours) if the ride is open. I agree, ride in the front for Millenium and Top Thrill, completely worth your time. Also try riding Millenium at night in the front, a totally different experience.

Can anybody give me a thrillseeker and a childrens plan for a day at the park like what order should we ride the rides in.

The most help I need is making my first ride TTD or MF.

Does staying at Castaway Bay get you into the park early (like the other CP resorts)?

That'll help you at least get one coaster under your belt before the masses swarm in (and maybe time enough to line up for something else).

Getting the Starlight is a really good idea, by the way.

Yes, Castaway Bay gets you in an hour early! Go to MF first, get the front row! TTD is usually not reliable until noon or so. Don't waste that hour by waiting in line for a ride that is only testing!

Everyone goes for those two rides first. If you are going early entry style, TTD probably won't be open yet. My advice is to use early entry and get there ASAP. Everyone will go to the Force or possibly Maverick, you can go to the other three rides that will be open early and probably walk on. After you've done that, check the line for MF. If it's an hour or less, get in line. If not, go to the back of the park and wait for the rides to open. When they do, you will walk on. Most people start at the front of the park and work their way back. I usually start at the back and work forward. I'll have ridden most of the big stuff in the back by the time people are halfway through the line in the front. By noon, the crowd will have spread out everywhere, shortening the lines in the front. TTD will have the big line, and so will Maverick if it's open. Check the MF line around noon/one, while the food stands are packed. The golden oppurtunity to ride the big rides is in the mid afternoon. This is when the resort/hotel guests break for a while. As night progresses, the crowds will get bigger and lines will get longer for the popular rides.

Best food choices are Macaronis, Famous Daves, and Johnny Rockets.

The problem with writing out a guide to what order to ride rides are two fold. 1. There are 69 rides there and its hard to remember all of their names. 2. Different people like different things, so what I enjoy may not be the way you would enjoy it. Everyone has given you some pretty good advice about when to ride MF and TTD. For thrill seekers I suggest those 2, (especially at night) Magnum, Raptor, Mantis, Wicked Twister, Maverick (if its open), and Gemini. I absolutely love Powertower, Skyhawk and MaxAir, but those arent coasters. The gentler coasters include Disaster Transport (inside, mostly in the dark, not thrilling, but fun for kids) Iron Dragon,(good for kids) Blue Streak, Wildcat, Cedar Creek Mine Ride, Jr. Gemini and another kid coaster back in Camp Snoopy. I am not a big fan of Mean Streak, but others love it. Too head rattling for me. Same with Corkscrew. For kids Camp Snoopy closer to the back is fun, also there are two different places where you can drive those old cars around a track. Bumper cars by Iron Dragon. Pirate ship, Swings, and Ferris Wheel are at different spots in the park. I went to CP yesterday and was there for the "running of the bulls." People headed to Raptor in the very front, Top Thrill Dragster before it opened and Millenium Force. We had 5 good rides done within an hour just because we didnt wait for those at the beginning. We only waited 20 min for MF, but it will be busier when you are there. I hope listing the rides like that helps a bit. I am sure after I post this I will think of a ride I missed.

Just got back.

First - buy your tickets at the hotel (Breakers Express had them $10 per ticket cheaper than the gate or online).

Food is expensive anywhere in the park. We went to Chic-Fil-A everyday and ate there for about $10 per person including drink (less when we ordered water). There servings are pretty good (waffle fries), and it was filling.

As you will have a car, eat dinner off-site in Sandusky - it will pay for itself.

Early entry-The hotel will give you a card that allows you entry into the park (after the turnstiles). Show the card to the guard, keep your party intact, and you will not have any problems with early entry.

Lines were short last week (5/24-26) until Saturday. It is important to get early admission and see what two rides are open when you leave the hotel.
