An excellent trip to Cedar Point

Cedar Point: Nothing went wrong

I would first like to begin this trip report by thanking all the people that helped me plan this trip in another post.

Now to begin.

I went up to Ohio with my family and a friend. We planned a trip to go to Cedar Point and stay at Castaway Bay. After we checked in we went to out to eat and then spent an hour at the indoor waterpark. It is very small but it was fun. It was just a starter to what happened the next day.

My group got up early got our early entry pass and drove over to the park. We found a good parking spot and then we got in line to get into the park. As soon as we got in, me and my friend ran to the back of the park to ride Maverick. I was very pleased to see Cedar Point running not two, not three, but six trains. It was a 15 minute wait and me and my friend hopped onto the second row. The ride was absolutely excellent. It was smooth and very fun. My only bad thing to say about it was it was a little bit of a headbanger. The time was 9:20 so I hopped into Millenium Force's line and waited about 30 minutes. The ride was without a doubt the best ride/roller coaster I have ever rode. The drop is amazing, the ride is smooth, and it is mighty fast. Mantis was right beside it so I gave it a try. It is a ride that is very painful and very lacking on the fun scale. So after the torture fest, my posse caught a ride on the Sky Ride to go over to Wicked Twister and MaxAir. My entire family minus 2 rode Wicked Twister and had a blast with not wait. The back is the best because you are looking straight down. MaxAir had a 45 minute wait so I saved that for later in the day. Raptor had a 2 hour wait so I skipped it knowing that it would not be as crowded at the end of the day. My family walked over to Maverick for a second ride. My friend and I hitched a ride on the front row for a totally different ride experience. We then wanted to ride Mean Streak. Big mistake! The ride is so rough that I thought the train had no wheels. It felt like it was skidding on a track covered with gravel. I sat down to shake off the beating and then went over to Skyhawk. The ride is very fun yet very short. Me, my friend, and my mom then got in line for the big daddy, Top Thrill Dragster. We had about a 30 minute wait until we got in the station so we got lucky. This ride was so much fun. The speed and height is so mind boggling but not on Millenium Force's level as a amazing ride. We then rode MaxAir with a shorter wait for a unusually but fun ride. After that we took on the Magnum at night. It is not as bumpy as people say it is and it is so cool on the second hill because you look like your about to go into the water. 10:00 came to fast and the park closed for the night. As I walked to the exit I heard the song "Perfect Day" playing on the park speakers. It was such a great way to sum up an absolutely perfect day.

Day Two

A more relaxed day since my family spent about two hours at the Castaway Bay waterpark and then ate at T.G.I. Fridays. We chilled for a while and then my dad dropped me and my friend off at the park. We bought Starlight Tickets and then went immediately to Raptor since we haven't rode that ride yet. The line was pretty bad because someone threw up on the third row and got throw up on the rows behind it. The staff cleaned the car but only let that train run its first two rows for about seven rides so it could air out. I finally rode it and I enjoyed it a lot because you are never going straight on this ride. Then me and my friend went to Millenium Force again. We had an 1.5 hour wait for the front row but it was worth it. The view was amazing and the first drop was great watching the trees blur past you as you flew down the track. Then we rode Top Thrill Dragster in the front for an fun but painful experience. I believed that I killed at least 100 gnats and I was covered with them. Power Tower had no wait so we hopped on the red and the blue side. I liked the red better because it seemed like a longer ride. I then rode Magnum again in the front row, got a T-Shirt and rode Wicked Twister again and finished my last day at the park.

I would like to end this post with thanking all the employees at Cedar Point. They were all friendly and knowlegeable about the park. They acted like they wanted to be there and it shows. Another thing is that the theming on Maverick was actually ver good. The line was decorated with old barrels and wanted posters. The park is also very clean and everything was perfect. Cedar Point was my favorite park experience ever but I still think Busch Gardens is the better park for a family but Cedar Point comes very close.

I do have to say, there is pretty much no way to have a bad day at Cedar Point unless you do something really stupid of don't take car of yourself in the heat. Plenty to do for everyone who rides any level of ride. I look forward hopefully this summer, if not to start a yearly trip to Cedar Point. It is the only amusement park (rides only) that I can think of that is worth spending 2 or more days at. Also, as always, major props to everyone who works at Cedar Point for the spectacular job that they always and are expected to do. They know that they are the best and they make sure that they do everything that they can to make sure then everyone has the best time possible. They don't brag or snob about how great they are, they just do everything they can to be the best.
