Walk in the Parks 2010!

Come help me and others cure childhood cancer and enjoy a day at a SF park!

Well, Six Flags is on the ball this year and has opened the "Walk in the Parks" events across the US.

Basically, its a Walk around your local Six Flags Park to raise money for curing Childhood Cancer. The main charity, Cure Kids Cancer, works with local hospitals to provide funds to treat, house, and hopefully cure cancer. At SFGA, its Children's Memorial Hospital. So I want to hear from all of you out there if any of you are doing this great event.

Since I will not be anywhere near a Six Flags park in mid-July, can I just register a donation for your team, Anthony?

Yeah, that is so kind! However, that is not the reason I mention it......

I simply wanted to get the word out because Walk in the Parks has not done a great job advertising this wonderful event. It became a big deal in Illinois because a 7 year old girl asked Oprah (a Chicagoan) to join her team. While SFGA and SFGAdv do well with participants (likely because of their locations), the smaller SF parks do not get the amount of participants.

To give to my team, I guess you need to give under my name because this year's site does not seem to give to teams, just individuals.

By the way Robert, Is there anyway I can buy a TPI button or pin from you to wear proudly at this and other SF events (for press days, etc)? I would wear a tshirt, but Walk in the Parks makes you wear their tshirt. I am willing to pay for that (as I think many others would!)

I wish it was for diabetes as since my sister was diagnosed a year from last week, my mom would be willing to fly us to any park just to do that!

Well the SFGA does go to Children's Memorial Hospital that takes care of life threatening diseases no matter if its cancer or not.

I agree with Robert, ya bums! Get off yer duffs and join Anthony's team! After all, he's one of us!

Follow the link provided above and click on Anthony's name (middle of the page) to see if you are on his team. If you are not listed, rectify the problem immediately!

I need your guys help!

The "big gun" finally joined and is raising money. Yes, I am talking about the 8 year old who has raised over 10,000 over the last two times doing it. In fact, she even got Oprah to help her out last year!

Help me keep up with her! Currently, I am only $2 in front of her! I knew this was going to happen :)

My "local" Six Flags is 4 hours away, and while I will be visiting in June, that's about all I have planned for it this summer. Sorry. I did contribute to your cause, tho!

But you are telling me that nobody on the greatest Theme Park website is doing this? Come on now! There has to be some SF fans! I was expecting some SFGAdv people or something!

I am getting my pants beaten off me again by this cute little girl who is just killing everybody in raising money. Its for a good cause though! She even got Oprah to help!
