Your Dream Epcot: Future WorldWalt Disney World: Tell us your dream Future world at Epcot
From David L.
Let's move on to Epcot's Future World! Note: i will post my dream DHS in a separate thread but it will likely take a while because i'm trying to cover everything on it and it's getting complicated. Many people dislike the imagination pavilion but EO's a start. Others dislike the seas. What about the end of Spaceship earth that some(not me) complain of? and the UNiverse of Energy? what about the old wonders of lfe? Epcot may be one of the worlds greatest theme parks(in my opinion the best but you don't want me to explain or else this will turn into an essay) ever but it's got to clean up a bit. World Showcase should come on Wednesday. Bring on all of your ideas!Posted July 18, 2010 at 9:02 PM

Bring a Glow Fest type event to Future World at night. Posted July 19, 2010 at 12:24 AM Restore Journey into Imagination back to the original ride. The current ride does a horrible and annoying job of storytelling. The old ride had a beautiful and more loose storyline that let your imagination fill in the gaps. I don't get Test Track. It is the ugliest attraction at Disney, offers minimal thrill, and just isn't worth more than a 15 min wait in my opinion. It's popular for some reason though, so it probably isn't going anywhere. I'd retheme it to some kind of Tron tank type of attraction, with pre and post show about the technology of video games. I don't like simulators, so I never shed any tears over Body Wars closing. The only thing I liked in that building was Cranium Command and the exercise bikes that let you peddle through the Magic Kingdom. If the pavillion was brought back, have an updated Cranium Command, and the rest of the space can be used for a high tech interactive dark ride where you are white blood cells and you have to battle infections. I don't remember the last time I did Universe of Energy. It bored me so much as a kid that I have never wanted to ride it again. I can't say what I would do to this without giving it a ride first, but it were bulldozed, build a pavillion based on extraterrestrial life. Recreate Alien Encounters to be the show in this pavillion. I know it got too many complaints in the Magic Kingdom, but Epcot has always been viewed as a more adult park. Put in an all ages dark ride with a little bit of history of UFO conspiracies with some 50's type of period scenery and also with beautiful scenery of what life might be like on other planets if it existed. Everything else is ok..

To be completely honest, I think Epcot FW is perhaps the only part of WDW that does not need a huge overhaul. Posted July 19, 2010 at 10:27 AM What I like: Spaceship Earth, just change the ending. What Should Change: The Empty Wonders of Life should be revived with a new version of Cranium Command and The Journey Within Coaster What Should be Added:

Movies such as Tron, Avatar (though you guys disagree on this one), and Wall-E could all work here!Posted July 19, 2010 at 10:37 AM I would like to see some kind of Tron coaster and Wall-E Interactive attraction here the most!

What is wrong with the end of Spaceship Earth? I didn't know that many people didn't like it.. what is the major complaint?Posted July 19, 2010 at 11:56 AM

More hippos!Posted July 19, 2010 at 12:14 PM

are there any hippos already? considering you said more and not add.Posted July 19, 2010 at 1:46 PM

The ending is simply a computer screen where you fill out a survey. It's just not that exciting for a finale!Posted July 19, 2010 at 4:28 PM
From David L.
Tim, "fill out a survay" you get to create your one future and then send home to watch yourself... yes, yourself, in your made up future!(briliant idea disney!) it's really cool but some people think it's stupid or boring or something like that... well i personally think it's a great idea! Plus all the exhibits(ok, not all) are really cool but some are deffinatly made for the younger crowd.Posted July 19, 2010 at 4:49 PM

How bout a roller coaster in the Universe of Energy PAvilion called Destination: THe future where you launch into the future and once in the future you ride around future town that could be set in the large dome.Posted July 19, 2010 at 5:04 PM
From David L.
Collin, are you talking about the wonders of life pavilion? I've thought about just a future town in the WOL pavilion and energy pavilion together with a transportation thing, stores, restaurants, and a ride or tow. But a coaster would be interesting, maybe as a transportation method? with large leg space for stuff?Posted July 19, 2010 at 5:56 PM

Ok, it is more than a survey. But yes it does get boring after a few times. Its almost like why do I have to bother. But that is the last thing changing on my list at Epcot or any Disney park for that matter. I'm much more concerned about other issues in the park. I still believe that FW is the park that needs the least amount of attention right now, WS is a completely different story!Posted July 19, 2010 at 6:34 PM It may be just me, but I'd like to see and hear some more of what that time racers coaster was all about that would have gone into Spaceship Earth if Project Gemini was enacted. I would like one aspect to come out of Project Gemini, renaming Future World into Discovery World. But don't get me wrong, I thought Gemini would have been a huge misstep turning the clean cut Epcot FW into an AK wannabe. But aspects were good and could have been developed.

Journey Into Imagination with Calvin and Hobbes is the best idea I’ve saw in this site! Although it will never happen!Posted July 20, 2010 at 7:26 AM Originally Epcot was a park where you could see and experience the Future. Now this concept is weaker. That’s true for the others Disney’s parks in Orlando. MK was about fantasy, AK bout animals and DHS about cinema. Now it’s all bout FUN and cross-selling Disney products (movies, toys and video games). The concept is missing. Perhaps Generation Y demands immediate pleasure with no hidden theme or learning experience. But I like the old way. I would bring back WOL, and build, between the Land and Seas pavilions, a new, ultra tech version of Horizons. A future town in a large dome after the ride could be a nice idea. This should reinforce the “experience the Future” concept.
From Derrick O. Foreman
WALL-E to me is perfect for Epcot. The whole theme of the movie and it's relation to the themes at Epcot go hand and hand. I don't understand why there isn't some type of attraction that involves him. They could replace Honey I Shrunk the Audience/Captain EO with a WALL-E based 3-D show. Or they could replace Journey Into Imagination with a dark ride. Those are the two attractions I think need to go the most anyway.Posted July 20, 2010 at 8:12 AM

I agree, Wall-e would be really good for Epcot, maybe even as a takeover for Ellen??? And I'm still probably the largest proponet for StormRider in a weather pavilion and the Spark Gap Electrical Loop Coaster to come here!Posted July 20, 2010 at 10:37 AM And I'd also like to see new sequences for Mission Space! I think that would be cool.

Put a roller coaster or interactive dark ride in the old WOL building.Posted July 23, 2010 at 12:06 PM

I'm good with adding a weather pavilion. The Imagination pavilion would have to be the one to go. HISTA is old and Journey into Imagination never has a wait so maybe its time to move on here with the weather pavilion. I love Test Track, Mission:Space,The Land, and the Seas. I even like Universe of Energy. An update and shortening the ride would be great. As for Spaceship Earth, yeah I don't like the ending but Disney won't fix its "enhancements"(see the Tiki Room under new Management at MK).Posted July 23, 2010 at 1:02 PM Another point is roller coasters and Epcot don't mix. Epcot is so unique and different than anything else and I just don't see a roller coaster popping up at Epcot.
From Tim W
Interesting thought with replacing the Imagination pavillion. The only thing that would bother me though is figment leaving the park. Maybe if they could create another place to utilize that loveable purple dragon....Posted July 23, 2010 at 3:07 PM
