Is Lost Continent getting a big refurb?Universal Orlando: With the Wizarding World of Harry Potter taking Lost Continent's main attraction,do you think that there will be a big refurb coming soon,or a newattraction to boost the Lost Continent?
From Tyler Bell
I belive that Lost continent will get refurbed into WWoHP in the coming years.Really there is nothing to do at Lost Continent execept eat at Mythos.Or Universal has something planned for the Lost Continent.Posted July 21, 2010 at 6:58 AM

No I dont think so.Posted July 21, 2010 at 9:56 AM With Harry Potter opeing and all the money the put into it I think there are just going to sit out for awhile. I think they want to take awhile to recoup some of the money they just put into it before they go out again and put in a new ride or attraction.

the Lost Continent needs to be redone completely. It is currently about the size of suess landing so it can be redone and be almost as good as before but that would mean either sinbad and/or posidon has to leave to create space. Other space in the area will also have to be cleared for attractions.Posted July 21, 2010 at 11:07 AM

Frankly, I'd love to see Lost Continent go. While the theme and attractions were top notch, Sinbad isn't really worth a second viewing, and Poseidon's Fury is a mere shadow of its former self (that's assuming it was even worth going on in its first iteration). As was said before, Mythos is the only real draw of this area, and according to TPI'ers and even critics, Mythos has lost its way, too.Posted July 27, 2010 at 7:53 AM So, the day they announce they're going to pave Lost Continent in favor of something else, or a Potterland expansion, is the day I'll rejoice, anyway.

I'm with Dan on this one. I don't think we're going to see any refurbs in The Lost Continent anytime soon in order to expand the WWoHP. While many of us are probably hoping for this change since LC has really declined, I just don't see Universal putting out that kind of money again so soon. I can see them investing money into updating current rides or adding single attractions down the line but not another entire "land" overhaul for some time. Just my gut feeling!Posted July 27, 2010 at 8:26 AM

The Lost continent is just boring,we only went 2 that area 2 ride The flying unicorn, with the kids. Make it all Harry Potter.Posted July 28, 2010 at 3:04 AM

Hello, in Orlando Intl. right now with time to check up on TPI. Seeing as to how I was at Sinbad and Poseidon's Fury yesterday, I might be some help! Posted July 28, 2010 at 8:18 AM Lost Continent should not expand into Harry Potter. There are so many problems with its location to expand, however I do have an idea that would be interesting and realistic. First, keep Lost Continent and expand it. Who knows how, but the day Mythos is themed to Potter is the day it looses any chance as best restaurant.

Change Poseidon's Fury. The show can use some help based off of what I heard from others in my family (although I liked it), so why not turn it into a ride? Keep the story line, but perhaps the final scene can have a HUSS giant Top Spin. the last scene would be quite the show if you were fliping around and upside down through it.Posted July 28, 2010 at 8:19 AM Any comments on my idea?

Nick, Maybe but i think the area needs to find a totally new basis since the headliner was changed. It should focus on one type of lost continent thing. Previously it was very general but i don't know if there's any space for that anymore. Regardless, Either posidon or sinbad need to go to make room for 2 other attractios icluding a headliner for the section. They need to do something fast(ok in the next 10 years) to that area because if they don't Disney may somehow find a way to make them change Marvel area(there's always a way) and then they would have 2 hurting sections and i think it would plumet unless the Harry Potter craze holds out for a longer period of time.Posted July 28, 2010 at 9:34 AM

They need to just start over with this area. The WWOHP took their only good attraction in Dueling Dragons. Sinbad and Poseidon are absolutely hopeless. Mythos is losing it's appeal. I'm confident that Universal will have another popular movie franchise within the next couple years for the basis for a new land. Posted July 28, 2010 at 10:34 AM

LC has to be redone. Either expand Harry Potter into it or completey redo the entire area. They have lost thier best attarction to WWOHP and right now its just a walkway to WWOHP. The main problem with expanding WWOHP into it is that the location would be a big problem. They should have just turned all of LC when they were first building WWOHP. This is what they should have done with LC. First they should have turned LC into hogsmede so it would be bigger and have more shops plus the shiercking shack as a huanted house atrraction somwhere there. Where Hogsmede is located now a forbbian forest area would have been great with a dark ride. Also near Hogworts should have been a quitch pitch with a fyling rollar coaster based off quitich. Thats how they should have done it. Since it would be hard to do that now heres what they should do. Re do all of lost coninet. Get rid of the arbaic setting and make it all based on Greek mythology. Turn PF into an E-ticket ride based on Posidion so they can keep the exterior design of the outside building. Demolish Sinbad and build a dark ride on the site. Posted July 28, 2010 at 5:10 PM

I still must disagree. I really honestly expected Lost Continent to be bad from what you all said, but when I visited, I really liked its atmosphere. I still think my idea is a better solution for Universal money wise, as it will be a big money saver compared to redoing the whole land. Posted July 28, 2010 at 8:03 PM

Even if you didn't expand Potterland, if there was ever a place for one of those family train rides, it would be a Hogwart's Express ride from the Wizarding World. Posted August 23, 2010 at 7:45 AM They could make a building that looked like London's Diagon Alley (creating more shops for people to spend money in) and use mirrors or other technology to make a "platform 9-3/4" entrance for a train ride that would go between there and a Hogsmeade station. But they could put this at the other end of the park, thus providing transport from the front to the back of the park, and giving people a place to buy butterbeer without having to walk all the way to the back and wait in line for Potterland. Did I mention I seem to be quite addicted to Butterbeer?
