Your Dream EPCOT: World ShowcaseWalt Disney World: Tell us your dream world showcase at epcot
From David L.
Let's move on to World Showcase! Lots of land is next to Germany for expansion. Minilots are next to mexico and france. Others can be made with a demolision crew(big white pavilion). Illuminations is amazing but some people want something new. Many pavilions lack any form of ride or show and some really need updateing. Begin.Posted July 21, 2010 at 10:03 PM

Well since this is a dream Epcot, I will post my idea for a newly reconstructed World Showcase. I've always admired the idea that they had for WestCot for the WS pavilions. Separate them by continents and have countries represented there. I'd love to see them do that at Epcot, although its highly unlikely. Posted July 22, 2010 at 10:36 AM My plans would inclue 4 distinct areas throughout the world. The New World, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and Africasia. Now some of you are probably wondering why I have two Europes and combined Africa and Asia. Well AK has alot of the more southern African influence, so why have it repeated here? Instead, two northern African countries will be represented. Now every country would also have a ride or show in it! New World: This land would include USA, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and Peru. USA would keep the same show, Canada would have a river rapids ride, and Mexico would keep the same boat ride. As for Peru, Raging Spirits from Disney Sea would be built here. Australia would have a CircleVision. Western Europe: This land would inclue Norway, Spain, UK, and France. Norway would keep Maelstrom, France would get a Hunchback of Notre Damn attraction, UK would get a 101 Dalmatians ride, and Spain would get a CircleVision. Eastern Europe: This land includes Germany, Greece, Italy, and Russia (since its both European and Asian). Germany would have its Rhine River cruise, Greece would have a Hercules Attraction, Italy would have a gondola ride through famous sites, and Russia would have a Bobsled coaster. And finally, Africasia: This unique land would combine cultures of Northern Africa and Asia. China would have a Mulan Acrobatics Show, Japan would have the Bullet Train ride, India would have Sinbad's Voyages from DisneySea, Morocco would have an Aladdin attraction, and Egypt would have a pyramid coaster. So this would finally bring some balance to WS and make it equivalent to an actual park. At the entrance to this park, it's a small world would be moved here being the first resort to not have it at MK. As I stated below, Ireland could be another possibility in the Western Europe Section, and Poland as a possibility for Eastern Europe. As for the layout, in a circle starting from Test Track side, New World, Eastern Europe, Western Europe, and Africasia. These islands would be pretty big and would all connect. However instead of singular countries, they would be an island where each country is represented with its own environment. Look to Westcot plans to envision how they would be situated. its a small world would be located behind Spaceship Earth if your coming in to the park. Once your on each island, it would be easy to see. Another thing that would be created here would be viewing sections for Illuminations with actual seats. Branching off of the islands would be large sections with bleachers for seating. It would be a whole new way to experience Illuminations!

Tim W, that plan is pretty much the coolest thing ever. The World Showcase could definitely stand to have some more places around the world represented. Posted July 22, 2010 at 6:02 AM I am glad you included Peru. I feel like South America got the shaft at Epcot big time. I have been to Peru three times (my wife is from there so we visit her family) and it is really amazing.

Every country should have a ride and a movie afterwards. I would include Ireland and I would give it a riverdance show. Italy should have gondolas like the ones in Las Vegas. I would like to see the Dark Castle ride from Busch Gardens Williamsburg in Germany.Posted July 22, 2010 at 8:06 AM

Me too Daniel. Dark Castle is really cool, I love it. Ireland could also be a possibility as well.Posted July 22, 2010 at 10:38 AM Thanks for the comment Scott, glad you liked it! I updated some of the ideas a bit, and fixed the error I made with the European countries.

Tim, your idea sounds wicked, I can actually picture myself walking round it as you described it. What about Mary Poppins for my home country (UK) though? Umbrellas that talk, chimney sweeps that dance and a carousel that comes to life? The UK pavilion at the moment bores me, we don't all sell soap and tea!Posted July 22, 2010 at 1:53 PM

Only major problem I have is, where is Impressions de France? It one of the most beloved, if not THE most beloved theme park movie ever. How could one replace it with a Hunchback attraction? Posted July 23, 2010 at 3:54 PM Also, I would re-do Illuminations. I too love it, but it's getting a bit dated. Even a renovation of the current show would be fine with me. Finally, if this renovation did in fact occur, I would personally seperate Epcot into two completely seperate parks. Future World would need a name change as well as some more attractions, but World Showcase would be just fine.
From Tim W
Future World could be known as Epcot, and I guess thats true about France. I've never been a huge fan of the circle vision films, but France's is the best.Posted July 23, 2010 at 4:23 PM

TBH circle visions don't really float my boat. They're usually just somewhere to go to get out of the sun for 20 minutes! I think rides would be better.Posted July 26, 2010 at 9:31 AM

I want to see Greece come! Good food and good background that Disney could draw for buildings, movie, and characters.Posted July 26, 2010 at 9:16 PM

I was hoping to see additional representatives from South America and Africa, so I was pleased that someone suggested Peru and Egypt as worthy additions.Posted July 28, 2010 at 10:27 PM I initially thought that I would have liked to see Brazil and a Southern African nation also represented (Morocco and Egypt are both located in the Northern portion of the continent). I realized, though, that while these regions have such a wonderfully rich human history, instead of putting too much into the World Showcase, these countries could (and actually do) have their natural environment represented at the Animal Kingdom. I would probably put a focus on Australia there, instead of the World Showcase, since the fauna is so unique.

An Egypt section with an indoor roller coaster through Pyramids, tombs similar to Revenge of the Mummy.Posted July 29, 2010 at 2:01 PM
