Ghostbusters show...Universal Orlando: Anyone remember the Ghostbusters show that used to run at Universal?
From Derek Morse
Does anyone remember the Ghostbusters special effects show that used to be at Universal Studios Florida? I recall seeing it when I was like 12 years old and thinking it was a really fun show, with a cool pre-show that featured Louis Tully (the guy Rick Moranis played in the Ghostbuster movies). I believe it played in the building that now houses Twister. Does anyone think that the Ghostbusters could ever return to the park in some capacity? With a rumoured third movie in the works and the recent success of the Ghostbusters video game, they can't make the excuse that the Ghostbusters wouldn't be known by todays audience. Just seems like a shame that they took a fun show like that and replaced it with what is now easily one of the weakest atractions at the park...Posted September 1, 2010 at 11:02 AM

Yes I remember it. We went to Universal Studios the first summer it was open. I really enjoyed the show and wish it would come back with updated special effects. OF course I'm a big Ghostbusters fan. :)Posted September 1, 2010 at 12:53 PM

I also remember the street show that was played out on the steps of "New York" where Rip Ride Rockit now emerges just along from Twister.Posted September 2, 2010 at 1:25 AM I'm not sure if this show was seasonal ( we saw it one Xmas ) but I really like the Ghostbusters movies and the street show captured the humour pretty well. Surely they could find a place for it somewhere at the Studios !

With the rumors that Ghostbusters will be remade, I could see Universal make a shoot-em-up dark ride or something of the sort for USH though.Posted September 2, 2010 at 6:56 AM

I absolutely LOVED that show -- remember the Staypuff Marshmallow man's giant face? It was a great show! Lot better than Twister.Posted September 6, 2010 at 12:41 AM
