Hi All

Long time admirer first time poster!

I am going to Islands of Adventure with my girlfriend and would really appreciate your expert guidance:

My mum is a huge Harry Potter fan and has had a pretty difficult year. I want to do something really nice for her. I had heard that there are some Park exclusive pieces of merchandise, is this true? Also I had also heard (can't recall where from now) that there was one or two VERY expensive park exclusive pieces of merchandise (believe it was a replica). Does anyone know anything about this?

Basically, if anyone can provide any help on unusual or rare Universal (or even Disney) merchandise that I can buy out there then it would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks in advance for any and all help!

All Best

Dan

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has many neat gift shops and such. for sure send her a letter or postcard from the Owl Post which when she recieves it will show it had been sent from the owl post! There are many other small options that I know of as well, but I am sure most of those shops have at least one big item. You will just have to see what when you get there, but there should be something!

I was there last month and have a lot of Harry Potter fans in my family. I ended up purchasing some Pumpkin Juice and a chocolate frog. They had a lot of neat items, I'm no help to if they're available anywhere else though. Make sure you get there early if you want to send her a letter from Owl's Post or want to be able to move in the candy store. They're unbelievably packed later in the day to the point where my Harry Potter obsessed boyfriend and his brother wanted nothing more than to leave Hogsmeade! I wish they sold the butterbeer in bottles as this IS an exclusive item but it only comes in cups.

You can buy some stuff at the gift shop near the entrance to IOA - though I am sure the shops in Potterland have items you can't find in other stores. I wasn't about to stand in line for 2 hours just to get into an overpriced, overfilled shop to find out.

I bought the scarf that they had and I love it. I didn't buy the "authentic" scarf cause it was $5 more and it was just stripes.....that's it... The other scarf that I bought has the team name on it and the emblem. Much nicer in my opinion. Also get the butter beer it's great I loved it

The high tickets items I saw was a super-detailed copy of the mauraders map. That was around $100. I also saw the monster book of monsters in a cage, but i'm not sure if that was just for display. Also they have a marble really nice game of wizard's chess. The wizard robes are around $60-$70 if I remember correctly. Hope this helps!
