Downtown Disney Area Resort Hotels

Walt Disney World: I was blown away by the Downtown Disney Doubletree. How do you think they compare to Disney-owned resorts?

I just had my first experience at a Downtown Disney Resort Area Hotel, and have nothing but good things to say about it. Having stayed multiple times at Disney's Value Resorts, Coronado Springs, and Port Orleans Riverside, as well as UO's Royal Pacific, I enjoyed the relaxed feeling and "Escape from Mickey-ness" at Downtown Disney Doubletree Suites. For less than I usually paid for a Disney Value Resort, I got a REALLY NICE, LARGE one-bedroom suite. What I lost in theming was made up for in convenience, with frequent shuttles and a quick walk to the Marketplace. I even got Mickey waffles for breakfast! Though I lost EMH, I don't really need them at this point in my Disney-ing. What do you think about the Downtown Area Resorts?

They are nice, no doubt! Still, its not that Disney Magic :)

I have heard of a bunch of people staying there because they had "points" for that hotel chain. Nothing wrong with that!

They are nice hotels, simply put! However, if you are down in Disney World, why not just go all in?
