What about a public enemies ride at universal orlando?

Universal Orlando: Gangsters, johnny depp as John Dillinger? Maybe a simulator ride, 1930's midwest, you being chased by the cops.

new ride idea at universal orlando.

The line could look like a speak easy, gangster memroabilia. the history of proabition, like museum in the wait line, baby face nelson, pretty boy floyd, alvin carpis, and have jhonny depp nararate the ride like speilberg at e.t. And its a universal movie, like the kwike mart have a resturant with a gangster theme, adults could grab a drink, plus a john dillinger ride would be so cool. Is this a good idea?

welcome to the forum. I would love to see Universal embrace some of their "older" properties. I would love to see a year round attraction dedicated to the monsters of Universal's past.

Shannon: That's one of the more interesting ideas I've seen here in a while. Much better than the usual South Park, Family Guy ideas that pop up a multitude of times every week. A lot of really good movies, past & present, could get incorporated into the attraction.

I think the idea is great! Put me in a cart like the MIB vehicles except that it looks like an old time jalopy, arm me with a tommy gun, and send me out on the streets of old Chicago. Points for shooting gangsters and points taken away for shooting civilians. End it all with a grand finale shootout with John Dillinger or Al Capone.

It couldn't be a shooter. I just cannot see a park putting in an attraction where the riders are encouraged to shoot at people. Aliens seem to fall into the acceptable category, but not people. While I generally frown upon anything even remotely considered political correctness, it's the right way to go.

The bigger problem is this: Public Enemies just wasn't terribly successful. Parks aren't generally eager to put in attractions based on high profile movies that couldn't crack a hundred million domestic.

That's not to say there isn't a ton of older pictures that certainly cover the Prohibition era, but again you're dealing with films that no longer have mass appeal. I think we're past the days where Universal could put things in out of respect for film history, and that's really a shame. For those of us who remember things like Hitchcock (or even better, the Psycho house itself), it's kinda sad.

Heaven help me, but when I first saw this thread, I envisioned a dark ride hosted by Flavor Flav.

I loved the idea of the queue being a speak easy and walking down an alley towards the attraction. This attraction could fit in the New York section of the park at USF in the corner next to Twister and RotM.

But yeah this movie didn't make too much dough to warrant an attraction and it is very adult oriented, much more than other films like Terminator 2 and the Mummy films.

Robert, if you don't lay down the law on the constant embedded videos I think you're gonna lose some of the grown ups. Just sayin'.

What about a public anemone attraction?

LOL at TH! Good one!

And, Dom, you're right..it's not against the rules. But your video selections, for the most part, have nothing to do with the subject at hand, and I think that's why some of us find them annoying. But I respect your ability to do so..I wouldn't know how to embed a video if my life depended on it.

It sounds very similar to Dick Tracy's Crime Stoppers proposed for The Disney MGM Studios in The 1990's. I would love to see it built. Chicago and The romanticized 1920's era is not really seen in Theme Parks. A great replacement for Twister.
