Dollywood Questions

Dollywood: I'm heading to the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area in mid-April, and have a few questions about what to expect on my first Dollywood visit.

1. How much will souvenir Coke cups be?
2. Does the park have any Coke Freestyle machines?
3. What will actually replace the motion simulator ride for the 2013 season? I know it's a "family show", but I want to know more about it.
4. How crowded will the park actually be on a typical Saturday in April?

Hi Jorge,
We'll be going to Dollywood in March 2013, so I will try to find out some of the answers to your questions.

if the weather is good, it can be quite crowded. lines can get long for coasters. not crowded as in Disney standards but still be parked all the way out in the parking lot. i would plan on being there before opening and there to close if planning to do the rides and shows. this will be during Festival of Nations, so not all of normal show are there.

Crowd should be moderate on a Saturday in April but you should be able to do all that you set out to do. The only warning is if the season pass holders can take a friend during that month. Last year they could in May and every saturday in may was extremely heavy.

I didn't realize they were changing the simulator ride out- haven't heard anything about that.

if you are buying one day tickets, i would check and see if Dollywood is still doing the preview after 3 the day before. this would help getting in extra rides.

The souvenir cups will be around 20 for two of them. There are no Coke Freestyle machines, however they offer slushie stations all throughout the park with many flavors. I had not heard that they were replacing the motion simulator ride, they had talked about for the past few years, but they never had. Interesting to see that myself. The weather has been decently warm lately, so I would assume that the park will be packed, but the y offer a Q2Q you can rent for a day that allows you to skip line.
