The Walking Dead replacing the Mummy?Universal Orlando: If the Mummy were to ever get replaced would a Walking Dead dark ride be a worthy successor?
From Shannon Nelson
First off, I love the Mummy, its one of my favorite rides, but it is almost ten years old, and I was just wondering, since Universal is constantly expanding and replacing, trying to keep up with Disney and all the blank checks from Comcast, as popular as the walking dead is and it being more current, if a dark ride in that space would make sense. Or could it go somewhere else, I know Universal had a walking dead theme one year at HHN, but i just thought it would make a good dark ride. A ride featuring Daryl, zombies and Michone would be awseome. So, no need for the Mummy fans to get upset, its just a what if question while im waiting for summer and my anual trip. I like the Mummy, just how popular is the franchise anymore?Posted February 22, 2013 at 9:47 AM

I'm into The Walking Dead. Except they are so slow... Not much thrill there. Posted February 22, 2013 at 2:11 PM

I think the mummy has a longer shelf life. Although walking dead is popular now, the mummy is one of Universal's classics (and there's a reboot in the works)Posted February 22, 2013 at 2:40 PM

Maybe Walking Dead should just get its own attraction Posted February 22, 2013 at 5:12 PM

The Walking Dead game really won big. It won game of the year at the VGAs wich is the Oscars of games. It was one of the top selling downloadable games of the year and in my opinion one of the best games ever made.Posted February 24, 2013 at 9:15 AM

I believe that Universal will not be replacing Revenge of the Mummy anytime soon because its a popular dark ride attraction, and could possibly be the best dark ride/indoor coaster hybrid ever made. Even though the Walking dead would be a really cool and immersive ride it's too seasonal "horror" to become a permanent attraction. However if Universal Orlando ever decides to go through with a house of horrors year round haunted house it would appear that one of the sets would be themed towards the Walking Dead.Posted April 11, 2013 at 5:26 PM

Heck NO. Revenge of the Mummy is honestly one of the best attractions in the world, is the highest rated attraction in the park, is still very popular and I don't think it would ever even need to get replaced. Though with Universal, you never know...Posted April 12, 2013 at 11:19 AM

Dom, technically, the Mummy isn't the highest rated USF ride. Despicable Me actually has a 9 too, albeit with 118 less votes :PPosted April 12, 2013 at 1:20 PM
