Possible Refurb Of Epcot's Future World?Walt Disney World: What are the odds?
From Andrew DoughertyIn the late 90's Disney had a plan to change all of the Future World attractions. These changes included World of Motion to Test Track, Universe of Energy to Universe of Energy: Ellen's Energy Adventure, Captain EO to Honey I Shrunk The Audience and Journey Into Imagination to Journey Into Your Imagination. Most of these were changes for the worst. Horizons was also leveled and the space was left vacant for a while through this construction. Wonders of Life went mostly untouched to what I understand and was closed down in 2008. Also during this time The Land Pavilion's interior was redone. Soarin and Mission Space were built in the 2000s.

Now with Test Tracks's Recent refurbishment and more and more rumors popping up that there could be a new ride film on the way to Soarin, and rumors of one last reboot on Journey into Imagination, what are the odds of the Future World attractions going through a refurbishment and another reboot.

From Phil B.I'd say slim to none this decade. Magic Kingdom just got it's Fantasy Land expansion, Animal Kingdom will get Avatar and The Studios will get a major reworking with an expanded Star Wars Land, as well as some form of Pixar expansion, whether it's Monsters Inc., Carsland or another property. All this before the resort turns 50. I'd look to sometime after 2021 if you're looking for an overhaul to the whole future world section. I could see a new country added to World Showcase, but that never seems to get past the rumor stage.

From Mark FairleighI see a slow, gradual updating like what's happening now, but no grand overhaul. It'd be too disruptive. It's not like Epcot isn't drawing people in in droves as is. The financial incentive isn't there.

Now if Disney started noticing significant dips in attendance over an extended period of time it might happen.
From Tyler HarrisNo, it wont happen to all of it, but a refurb of Figment would work enough to make attendances go up (Bryces Imagination Pavillion anyone???)

From Manny BarronThere were also refurbs to Spaceship Earth and the Seas got the Finding Nemo treatment. They have got to do something about Wonders of Life, either re open it with Cranium Command and a refurbished(Star Tours-style) Body Wars or replace it altogether with something new. Anything is better than the vacant building they have there.

From Gabriel RossIt's still nice to hear that Epcot hasn't been forgotten in all the expansion.
