>>>A Kansas waterslide billed as the world’s tallest remained off-limits as authorities pressed to figure out how a state lawmaker’s 10-year-old son died of a neck injury while riding it.

>>>Details remained murky about what happened on Sunday to Caleb Thomas Schwab on the 168-foot-tall “Verruckt” – German for “insane” – that since its debut two years ago has been the top draw at Schlitterbahn Waterpark in Kansas City.

Thoughts and prayers with the family.

This one makes me especially angry - given the confluence of design and regulatory issues at play here that led to what appears to have been a completely preventable death.

So angry that I think I'm just going to shut up now... until such point that I can say something useful.

I was away when this happened -- did any more information ever come out beyond the initial stories ?

Who ever thought that Velcro makes for a good safety harness is an idiot.
