Have you ever taken a Disneyland tour?

I'm thinking about a spring break visit to Disneyland with the family, and realized that I've never done any of the tours at Disneyland Resort. (I have been on a few tours at Walt Disney World, and both my wife and I used to work at WDW). Obviously, there's a quite bit more history to Disneyland park than any other park, so I'd love to hear from any Theme Park Insider readers who've spend the money for a Disneyland tour as to whether they thought it worth the extra expense. Did you get anything more from the tour than a fairly knowledgeable person would get from walking around the park on her/his own? Which tours would you recommend? TIA.

This past fall my wife and I took The Walk In Walt's Disneyland Footsteps tour. It is an update on the past A Walk in Walt's footsteps tour. I would very much recommend this tour. Both my Wife and I consider ourselves huge Disney fans with a large knowledge of Disney But that aside even if you know a large amount of what the tour tells you, its a very interesting experience to be taken to these iconic locations and be spoken to about the history and development of this historic park. By the end of the tour not a single eye was dry in our group.

The tour includes lunch or dinner depending the time of your departure. Every body in the group gets an earpiece to better hear over the crowd. They worked a little funky but well enough. Its about a 3 hour tour and includes riding and visiting select attractions. An after thought as well after we ate our dinner, our group was split into two smaller groups and taken separately while one ate to a very special surprise which i could not even imagine ruining here. It capped off a really great tour.
